President Joe Biden on Monday shot down yet again his predecessor’s latest attempt to invoke executive privilege over a new round of White House records sought by the House Jan. 6 committee.
If only there were a way to stop these endless demands and assertions of “former executive’s privilege” from slowly working their way through the court systems… What part of “baseless” doesn’t the judicial system understand?
Doing some light editing:
Trump…“would destroy the very fabric of our constitutional separation of powers and invade fundamental privileges designed to maintain the autonomy and functioning of the Executive Branch.”
Does the archivist have to wait for a court decision before releasing the materials or can he just proceed unless and until a court grants Trump an injunction?
If we were part of the trum-publican anti-democracy cult, we would erect gallows outside of Supreme Court, and bust into the place, creating violence until we get our way.
So does this mean that the documents will be released immediately? Have they already been released? If not, why not? How long is this expected to take? TPM, it would be nice to get some clarification on this.
