Pelosi better damn well take up the mantle on this commission, and make it a real and in-depth investigation, with repercussions and teeth. I’m starting to get the feeling they’re pussyfooting around with this shit, and it’s making me queasy. And angry.

Exactly.

Kill the f***ing filibuster now because I promise the R’s will as soon as they are back in power.

Trust me, Speaker Pelosi is not going to mess this up. The GQP will wear their shameful 1/6 behavior around their fat necks like a 40 ton albatross.

There must be an accounting, but a House investigation is not the way. Regardless of how fair it is Republicans would scream bloody murder and right wing news/talk show hosts would inflame the masses. Only a truly politically independent commission has a chance of being heard. I think a panel of retired federal judges elected by retired federal judges should be empowered to do a thorough investigation and given adequate financial and staff resources, and time to do it right. Only those retired federal judges who got a majority of votes from retired judges nominated by Republican presidents, AND a majority of votes from retired federal judges nominated by Democratic presidents would be eligible.

Technically, they’re conchiglie, although theological opinions differ.

They don’t need any help being inflamed - they are permanent hemorrhoids as it is. Who cares what the GOP says or howls? They had their chance - they were offered a bipartisan commission and turned it down. The real masses - the majority of Americans - want this investigated. The majority is not amused by what happened in the slightest and don’t care what the GOP says or Fox or OAN or Newsmax.

Seem about right…but does He always hear the ocean?

The most important thing is that the investigators have subpoena power, and at this point a House select committee seems to be the fastest way to achieve that.

Straight pathetic, just like Obama. This isn’t turn the other cheek stuff. They are trying to make it so they can do whatever they want to you and you don’t matter. What a weakling.

Yes and it’s doable. Anything else is questionable.

How many Bengahzi special committees were there? Even considered partisan, it will get a lot of air time. Depends partly how much the R’s make it a circus and how many D’s call them out. There have been some really good answer-back responses this year from the D’s. The members of the committee will be critical. And, maybe it will run until next summer.

Whee, a committee. I’m sure that will fix everything. If Biden doesn’t stop trying to placate the right soon, he’ll end up a one-term president, just like the orange one.

The results of any Presidential Commission investigating the matters surrounding the events of January 6th would be received (respected/disrespected) along party lines. To that extent, and regrettably, it would be a foolish exercise and would merely solidify and foster further division. Should a commission be formed? Yes. Should it be a Presidential led commission? No. Biden is taking the high road. The Trumpers continue to take the low road.

I almost flagged it because it is so patently propaganda.

Yes and the attack wasn’t on the Executive. It was on Congress. I think Congress is the right place for the investigation.
