This is actually shaping up well for Biden…not for the nation, or the 1-200k who will die in the next couple months of course, but that’s all due to Trump and his administration’s incompetence. Biden really is going to walk in the door and make a visible change, and he should be able to do everything he wants using executive orders and the powers of the presidency. No way that Congress can interfere, and while states can muck things up it will be immediately obvious if things start getting better in the states working with Biden and not in the ones interfering. It will hopefully lead to a rapid turnaround in the progress of the pandemic, visible change that will make everyone wonder why it wasn’t done a year ago.
That will give Biden a lot of good will…then, when Republicans try to interfere with everything else he does, he’ll have serious political capital to use, and the ability to call for Republicans to be tossed out of office because they did so badly with COVID and are still blocking Biden doing things that will make the nation better. It’s a good play, if Biden can pull it all off…the toll in lives isn’t worth it, but Biden should use that toll to smash Republicans over the head with how little they cared for the American people.

The Trump regime is only notable for its incompetence, corruption, and stupidity. Biden will have his hands full getting the vaccine properly distributed and provided.
Literally, once again, the Trump regime is killing Americans for no good reason when an obvious solution is available — stand out of the way and let Biden’s far more competent team step in NOW.

First there was a mini briefing conducted by tweets from WH to whatever golf course he was on to explain who Becket was, what the Magna Carta was after checking a Wiki page and then he let rip with a proclamation. Next week we celebrate Frederick Douglass, who we now know is. What a phucking dolt.

It’s actually pretty scary out here with the ICUs filled up…it means you don’t want to have anything happen to you at all, because they may not be able to handle you. It means being shuttled around until somewhere can be found to treat you, possibly in a tent outdoors. And, right now, there is probably somewhere you can get treated…the predictions for next month make it clear that people who in normal times would survive are going to die simply because there is nowhere to take them.
If you thought things were bad in December, January is going to be really scary…

It seems to me that in the past we spoke of the incoming administration using both the prez and vice prez names. Beginning today when we speak of the people who will lead the new government it’s important that we include Kamala Harris each and every time. She’s going to be an active and engaged veep like we never seen before with the exception of maybe Biden. Just the fact of her being the first in a couple of categories gives her the right to be recognized.

Second para which I’ve known was the case. A friend’s husband needs surgery for prostate cancer and there are no beds for him in the Sacramento area where they live.
On Monday, the Southern California and San Joaquin Valley regions reported they have no hospital beds available. Gov. Gavin Newsom said 96% of the hospitals in Los Angeles County were forced to divert emergency patients over the weekend due to overcrowding in emergency rooms, and that on Monday the state dispatched a support team to help manage the crisis. My younger brother has been having issues with his colon for a few months. He just finally saw a doc in Buffalo, who told him to go the the small local hospital near him if it becomes more serious.
But the issue is that people who need non-emergency care can’t get it. This needs to be more publicized.
