She has experience but I am not a huge fan of some things she has done.

We’ll see what happens.

I don’t know her, but I’m really glad to see a woman in contention for Defense!

No question about that.

Are there other candidates you’d prefer besides the specific one mentioned above?

I think Biden should retain or rehire some cabinet officials from Trump long enough to figure some shit out.

Not ranking any candidates here, but I can say that I think Senator Tammy Duckworth should be considered.

(The governor of Illinois at the moment is a Democrat.)

I don’t think there is much to learn from vermin.

She favors closer international cooperation after four years of a Trump White House that touted an “America First” policy and was more distrustful and critical of allies.

This alone makes me happy. I believe we should we working closely with our allies with whom we have shared values and certainly not Russia.

Elaine Luria (Virginia) doesn’t quite have the background of Tammy, but she’s one to keep in mind for other openings.

Luria joined the Navy at 17. She graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a BS and a double major in physics and history, and a minor in French. Luria attended the US Naval Nuclear Power School. While serving in the Navy and stationed aboard the flagship USS Blue Ridge, she earned an MS in engineering management… She deployed six times conducting operations in the Middle East and Western Pacific on destroyers, cruisers, and aircraft carriers.

Luria was the first female American sailor to spend her entire career on combat ships and rose the rank of Commander.

When she retired from the Navy, she returned home to Norfolk and started a business which has been successful enough in two years to have donated $50,000 to various charities and pumped $250,000 in taxes into the local economy.

What about hiring former officials that worked in those positions before Trump or were dumped by Trump due to actual competency and integrity. I am pretty sure they can figure out what was broken and how to put it back together. Honestly, I can see current Trump sanctioned bodies changing passwords on the way out and refusing to pass it on to the new guys. So might as well expect a corrupt and hostile environment and get to fixing it.

Duckworth for SEC DEF, or Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

No argument. But the Trump crowd doesn’t seem to be too bright.

Wouldn’t that take away a critical senator that we need. And one that has shown her mettle in the job as well.
