Biden Jabs Trump For Lacking Sense Of ‘What Constitutes National Security’ In Woodward’s Book | Talking Points Memo

Middle Eastern terrorists have nothing on these Republican suicide bombers.

Every time I read something like this with this quote :

“Over the last however many couple weeks … tens of thousands of people tested positive, and they haven’t found one hospital admission yet,“ DeSantis said. “Sometimes you just got to put these cases in perspective.”

then for some reason this refrain starts playing in my head.
Gone to graveyards every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

This will backfire, but the numbers won’t show it for another month.

But 1/3 or more of the country knows NOTHING about any of this news. None. And nothing will change until the propaganda ends.

What really amazes me about our political situation is that the Orange Miscreant is gaslighting like he has more methane than what can be fracked from the planet plus what is contained within the thawing permafrost. It is well beyond blatant. It is waving in your face blatant, like this enormous gaslight flame is lighting up the skies along the west coast greater than all the wild fires, and his sheeple will just suck all this shit up. Absolutely amazing. It also worries me, from the standpoint of the unhealthy aspects of our democracy.

Trumplethinksin is on tape saying that he knew the severity and he blames the lack of dissemination of the truth onto Woodward. How can any sane individual who is paying attention not see this? The answer is that his followers/thralls simply do NOT care about the truth. They do not care that he has put everyone they love at elevated risk, because they believe that COVID-19 is a hoax. That is extremely unhealthy for democracy.

Trump must lose by a landslide, both electorally and by popular vote.

As a nation, collectively, we are boors; Philistines; we have really bad, even “deplorable“, taste in politics and politicians. If our nation were a person, we’d choose Ripple over Chateau la Fite, Coors Lite over Pilsner Urquell, Velveeta over a fine Stilton. We are irredeemable.

La Follette should defy the court and order the clerks to send the ballots citing that in the decades he has served his office, he has never seen the courts try to obstruct absentee voting as blatantly as they are now.

He should note that the courts order to halt printing and mailing of ballots this close to the election will do irreparable harm to Wisconsinites’ right to vote absentee and imposes undue hardship on state apparatuses finding suitable suppliers to print new ballot and then test them before mailing. In fact, it is unclear that the state could even secure new ballots, test and mail them in sufficient time so that absentee ballot requests can be fulfilled. In short, as Sec of State for the state, he is duty bound to ensure that its residents are free to cast their votes, absentee or otherwise, and hereby order the ballots to be sent.

Oh.

A new congressional investigation has uncovered that Susan Page, the Washington Bureau Chief of USA Today, hosted a “Girl’s Night” at her home in November 2017 to honor Seema Verma, the Administrator of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Trump’s top Medicaid official. Taxpayers paid for $2,933 of the party’s total bill. Verma has a long history with Pence going back to his time as governor of Indiana.

Last week, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced that Page would be the moderator for the vice presidential debate Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Kamala Harris on October 7. “USA Today is defending longtime Washington bureau chief,” the Washington Post reports.

Trump is the kid that always has to have the newest thing, even if he doesn’t have the newest thing he wants you to think he has. His base on some level knows that what Trump is saying is not true, but it stirs us up and that’s the reaction that they want. I’ve heard this described as the “grievance campaign”. They know he is full of bullshit, but what they care about is sticking to who they think are the “elites”.

And after Belarus I’m not sure if winning by a landslide will convince these folks. This is why his continuing harping on the vote is being tainted, and the election won’t be fair. For me the I don’t want a blow out, but it also can’t be too close.

Good grief. How fucking depraved do you have to be to do something like this? The Wisconsin Supreme Court is composed of seven judges, six of which are women. Let it be known that gender is not a determinant in ratfuckery. That exposes my own bias because I always thought that the real ratfuckers were all men.

There are rules about what is required to be on the ballot in Wisconsin. One of those rules is that the candidates must provide their correct home addresses. It was alleged that the Green Party vice presidential candidate did not provide a correct home address. This is not a difficult thing. But the GOP wants the Greens on the ballot to siphon votes from Biden-Harris, just like they used Stein in 2016.

Green Party candidate Jill Stein received 31,072 votes in Wisconsin in 2016. Hillary Clinton lost Wisconsin to Trump by a 22,748-vote margin.

Ratfuckery.

While Biden is ostensibly talking about Trump as a national security threat, by referring to Trump’s remarks about nuking hurricanes, airports during the Revolutionary war, and the dementia test Trump took, what he’s really doing is sowing doubt about Trump’s mental status and capacity to serve as President. Well done and tables nicely turned.

I don’t quite, but almost think the military told him because they knew he’d leak it and didn’t mind Putin and China knowing we’re still ahead of them technologically. There’s no possibility that he has enough of a grasp on the science to tell Russia anything of import. In fact, Russia should worry he’s going to confabulate, and make up things out of whole cloth.

Oh, I don’t know about that. He could easily say something like “We’ve got hypersonic ramjet cruise missiles working now” or “We figured out those space-based StarWars laser platforms and had them put into orbit using the mini-shuttle.” If one has a child-like understanding of stuff, it’s not hard to remember a general description of the technology, especially since that’s what one would tell someone who cannot grasp beyond a child-like understanding.

Listening to Peter Strzok on Maddow and my conclusion for what it’s worth is that what drives Trump to do and say the shit that does and says falls so far from normal that in some ways his in a class of his own. Strzok was talking about how to get someone to work for a foreign country’s interest falls into a couple of ways, some for money, some for ideology, and some have no idea that they are.
In Trump’s case we know that flattery and sucking up to him gets your foot in the door. Trump has wanted tower in Moscow for years, so when he sold that mansion in FL to one of Putin’s “friends” Trump thinks that the $$$ came from Putin, that the two of them can work some deals, and there is no way in hell that Trump can be considered patriotic or has any feeling for protecting this country.
Some have referred to it as transactional, but in the end it’s that Trump has no superego, he’s only id and ego. You make him feel important than he likes you, you can help him he likes you, if you want him so sell out his country if you make it worth his while he’ll do it.
This also explains his comments and attitude towards the military. I’m sure that in the beginning having the Marine guards salute him as he walks by filled up his ego, but it wasn’t enough. When “his” generals didn’t defeat ISIS and Erdogan stepped in said “let me handle the clean up” he said fine.
I think we’d have to go all the way back to the pharaohs of Egypt or the emperors of Rome to find any leader as whacked out as Trump.

Of course, they will.

Well, I suspect he knows enough to be dangerous. I don’t know anything about any of this, but I’m sure I could get enough out of a briefing to understand something like: we can now pinpoint laser weapons from space to within 10 feet. I’d know enough to keep that secret; Trump is fully capable of blurting it out.
