President Joe Biden is meeting with the Senate Democratic caucus Thursday, applying some pressure in a seemingly ill-fated push to pass voting rights legislation.
I interrupt the regularly scheduled programming to send out an especially hearty “Fuck Sinema!” if she shits all over President Biden’s visit to Capitol Hill this morning.
Sinema is reportedly considering giving a speech on the Senate floor before Biden arrives rejecting the idea of changing the rules to pass voting rights. It would be a massive slap in the face to the leader of her partythe existence of democracy in America.
Yay, Sinema. That speech will certainly play well for future historians.
As disgusting and vile as it is, one reason why the GQPers get a lot of stuff through is because, for better or worse, they hang together and STFU if they don’t agree. Yes, there was the Tea Party kerfuffle, but otherwise it seldom happens that they sabotage their own goals.
Dems, on the other hand…
If I believed in Hell, I would wish for a lightning strike and this vile woman finding herself in the deepest depths for the rest of eternity.
Wendy Rogers ran for 5 different offices in AZ before she finally became a state senator for some of the richest areas in the state. She is bull goose looney and has been from day one, and elected office has not slowed her down in the slightest.
She’s a real sweetie, makes Jan Brewer look like a kindergarten teacher. She used to be a neighbor to my mother-in-law and she is one of the few people I have ever met who actually has measurable negative charisma.
I have been doing mail-in voting in AZ for years - this really goes against everything except Trump’s hatred of mail-in voting.
This is often said, but it’s really not true. The only significant piece of legislation they passed during Trump’s term was the tax cut. They didn’t get a damn thing on infrastructure, immigration, and they didn’t get to kill Obamacare. Also, nothing on abortion or their other culture war agenda items. Yes, they got their judges pushed through, but so are Dems. Biden is getting judges confirmed faster than Trump did.
Sinema’s gambit here looks like an attempt to prevent a vote. I hope Schumer continues — not just because everyone needs to be on record, but if they are using Politico to sidetrack the process they have reason to fear a vote.
Manchin is the author of the Voting Rights Bill that the Senate is going to vote on. If either Sinema or Manchin maneuver to deny its passage, they are working on Manchin’s own bill.
The victors write the history so Sinema may have a leading role.
Followed by the even more extreme Freedom Caucus that now dominates GOP “thinking” which in turn is bolstered by the libertarian/nihilist Supreme Court.

I look forward to donating vigorously to Ruben Gallego’s primary challenge to this feckless twit.
