President-elect Joe Biden argued on Tuesday that his administration would not be simply an extension of former President Barack Obama’s presidency as he begins to roll out his Cabinet and advisory picks.
I am glad to hear this, but must ask… By whose standards? I seriously doubt that his agenda will be progressive by ‘progressive democrats’ standards… but I believe they will be considered downright socialist by Republicans.
The President-elect also stated that he has considered appointing a Republican who voted for Trump for a Cabinet position because “the purpose of our administration is, once again, uniting.”
Please, please do this, but make it a Republican senator from a state with a Democratic governor.
That’s actually a pretty strong and very apposite statement, and speaks directly and IMHO appropriately to the enormous damage done by the Trump regime.
It’s also another warning shot across the bow of any McConnell-ites who are just thinking they’ll rinse/repeat their obstruction of Obama.
Because then the motherfuckers are going to have to face POTUS 47.
Just think - Obama took over from a disastrous president who was actually trying to fix some of the mess he had created, but poor Joe is being handed the reins by someone who is actively working to make the worst possible situation even “worser”. Watching him introduce his cabinet yesterday actually brought me to tears.
McConnell and various other Republicans, in league with Trump, will actively work to undermine and sabotage Biden throughout his term. It will start in earnest with Senate hearings on the Cabinet nominations, and go to hell from there. Biden is going to be pushing a chain uphill for four long years.
