Democratic candidate Joe Biden is ready to face off with President Donald Trump at the final presidential debate next week, the former vice president’s campaign said on Friday morning.

They’re going to need a bigger rubber padded room for Fat Nixon…

“And it is on the Cleveland Clinic, Alison, to ensure that the safety precautions are being adhered to,” the campaign aide added. “So we expect them to do their jobs and Joe Biden is going to do his.”

It will gall the Trump Klan to no end to have to sit in the audience and wear their masks. We’ll see if they’re actually made to adhere. I have my doubts.

Let’s see if Trump will show up or find a bunch of excuses to chicken out. Also, will the moderator be able to mute mics in this one?

Biden is out front by 10-12 points two weeks before the election. Millions of votes are off the table. He doesn’t need the debate. Trump does. In a normal universe there is no way Trump screws this up, but we are talking about Trump. Watch him bitch and moan that he is immune so he doesn’t need to be tested. There is a good chance that he won’t show up.

VSOT (Very Slightly): Christ on a cream cracker! The goddamned BBC World News Hour (!) opened coverage of last night’s “events” by calling Biden the “stealth candidate” who has rarely been seen…yada, yada…EVERYTHING Trump touches dies. I think a strongly worded e-mail to Bush House may be called for.

Meanwhile, in this horrible wrong turn on the probability tree, there is no way he doesn’t.

Biden doesn’t need this debate but, it will be fun to watch The Orange one have another meltdown. Apparently his Town Hall was an epic disaster.

I know that politics are driving everything right now, but politics are shaped by the candidate.

I’m probably lionizing him too much, but there is a part of me that hopes Biden is thinking - “I’m not going to allow Trump to destroy the tradition of political debates.”

The same way I don’t think he’ll lead the charge to pack the courts or to end the filibuster. Though I think he’ll also punt to Nancy and Chuck on those things if the party really has the political will to do them.

It’s an NBC moderator so Trump has an excuse to bail out, but he needs this far more than Biden does. Kudos to Biden for going through with it anyway.

The only interesting question is if they can force the Trump family entourage to wear masks. I would love to see them sit down masked, then remove their masks at some point, and have the moderator stop the debate until they mask up again.

Take all precautions, Tennessee hasn’t been stellar in dealing with Covid-19.

Any mask-enforcement action taken by the hosts or the moderator against the family of the Superspreader-in-Chief will inevitably be whined about as persecution.

No guests. No wives, no kids, no stunt guests. Nobody except the candidates, the moderator, essential event staff, and Secret Service (excluding anybody who had to attend to Drumpf during his convalescence). The nuclear football guy can chill in the green room.

I’d say, no debate unless Trump actually takes a COVID test (at least one) and comes up negative. Otherwise, it’s too much risk to the audience, moderator, and Democratic candidate.

Oh, and also the moderator or the crew behind the cameras CUTTING THE MIC of Trump when he interrupts or exceeds his allowable speaking time. Just do it. Americans are SOOO tired of this show.

I would say we don’t need another debate, except last night Biden actually made news by promising to tell us his position on Supreme Court reform before Election Day. After some prodding by George Stephanopoulos.

Last night really drove home just how fucked Trump appears to be. Just an absolutely incredible own-goal to present such a plain A/B choice between this boring, staid, normal dude and rambling fucknuggetness. Americans literally could see what it would be like to change the channel away from this nightmare.

Thanks for accidentally fucking him over by beclowning yourself, NBC.
