The U.S. has secured enough doses of COVID-19 vaccine to inoculate the country’s adult population by the end of May, President Joe Biden said on Tuesday.
If he can get us to herd immunity by midsummer, Biden is going to go down as one of the top five greatest presidents of all time. If he manages to save summer, he might even turn a few GOPers into fans.
Somehow, I’m not surprised that the former administration tied its shoe laces together in trying to deal with this.
Now, I suppose, the only question is, ‘Did they intend to fall on their face?’ We can be confident someone else was to blame when it happened.
Sober judgment, truthful messaging, working the levers effectively. Refreshing. Meanwhile we learn that Donnie and Melania were vaccinated in January, proving once again they are self-serving at the expense of their supporters known as “the Trumpers.” Shameful.
Wait a minute I thought that Canada had secured enough doses for 9 times the amount of people up there.
Counting up all vaccine deals per capita, Canada leads the pack, with nearly nine doses per person (see ‘Best and worst supplied’). “Canada has done exactly what we would expect a high-income country to do, and they’ve done the right thing by their country,” says Andrea Taylor at Duke.
I realize that this was early reporting, but you know how you hear the first reporting and then fail to keep track. So if things changed, then I’m sorry.
