Families that had been split under the Trump administration’s child separation policy at the U.S.-Mexico border will begin reuniting this week, according to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Mayorkas has been working very hard. The Trump/Miller family separation policy was a grotesque violation of human rights. I am so glad that Mayorkas has started the reunification process. I look forward to the DOJ announcing a full criminal inquiry into the conduct of the officials who made this happen. This was a crime against humanity,
New York Weekly News (May 26, 1866) on the persecutions of Native Americans:
”These are the wretches the Government pamper…sickly sentiment in favor of preserving them is all bosh. We say kill them off, the faster the better, without distinction — nits make lice.”
For every reason. I saw a reunification after just a short period. The kid was afraid of his parents, didn’t trust them any more. The mom was visibly heartbroken. I hope other families do better but this is a terrible, profound crime and the president and vice president should keep their distance. There’s no triumph here, no happy ending. All you can say is thank you, Trump voters. You wanted to see things shaken up and I wish I could make you eat this. I wish the suffering could be taken off those families and put on you, you soulless monsters.
It’s a conundrum…for some people (us) it would be acceptable…for the opposition, it may engender even more hatred for innocent children who wanted to harm no one.
Maybe we could raise money by charging people 5 minutes alone with Miller, Sessions, and Barr. No questions asked, no weapons allowed to be carried in.
