Bernie Sanders Has Become The Bad Cop Of Reconciliation | Talking Points Memo

I’ve said it before and Manchin will deny it, but to secure ANY Republican votes in the Senate for the “hard” infrastructure bill, he had to promise or pledge or something that he would do what he could to scuttle the Progressive’s agenda. But he couldn’t do so obviously because then the promise would backfire on him as neither bill would be passed.

The Rs didn’t care either way. They have Manchin in their pocket and something like this MUST have occurred since that’s the only explanation for why Manchin is acting and saying the things he is. He’s desperate to save his handiwork, but his promise to Republicans is more important to him than anything else.

What we have in the D Senate caucus are two closet Republicans who are more than satisfied to be known as the Ds who vote with and work with the Rs than supporters of the D president and the other Ds in their caucus. At some point, we would be better off having one of both switch parties so Ds could just blame Rs for not addressing what needs to happen in this country.

This is the role he was born to play.

Neither will Schumer.

(btw: I read this image differently than some, who thought it was “I can’t believe my fellow Dem is being so mean to Republicans.” I read it as “holy shit, my fellow Dem is denying me cover and lumping me in with those Republicans–I might be fucked, here!” The following image–to me–reads the same way):

Not everyone can do what Bernie can do here with the same force. He has practice. I think Miles on trumpet and Laura Nyro on vocals. Some people are made for certain means of expression.

The aim is such that once the message is communicated, the person giving the message actually becomes secondary to the message itself…in this case, what is in the FUCKING BILLS

Miles and Laura’s messages, to me, were far greater than “being a fan”.

You maybe right but there is also this for all those crying foul. They always cry foul.

OT, but so you can understand where this is headed…

Steve Forbes: Worse-than-expected jobs report ‘government inflicted’ and fueled by ‘crazy’ vaccine mandates

That’s right. Biden is killing jobs and employment by mandating that people act like there’s a social contract during a 100-year pandemic and get vaccinated and it has absolutely nothing to do with half of this idiot country committing attempted and successful suicide by virus just out of political spite and with the intention of screwing up the economy, as they proved was their intent when they cheered that at CPAC.

And also, its not like he has reason to be afraid of alienating anyone.

A Story in our local small town weekly newspaper told of a family here with six cases of Covid with one death and two of their teenage sons in intensive care intubated and on heart lung life support for the last month. Their father thinks he will maybe get the vaccine now. The mother still “isn’t sure.” Tomorrow is Saturday and I fully expect to see a bunch of waving flags and damn fools protesting masks and vaccinations standing on the corner where the four lane makes a wye with Main Street.

Nobody could be this stupid without help.

So we let more people die and Steve Forbes is down with it?

OK

Yup, and he is schooling Dems on how to message.

That would be a miracle.

The difference in the American population between 2009 and 2021 is not what our political narrative makes it out to be.

There are lots of actors…MSM…RWNJ media…foreign actors…the decision made by the GOP**…the establishment of the Trump Cult…1000s of minions and MORE

…which have done a number on us…and someday, hopefully, there will be a historical accounting of just what happened to us.

** That GOP decision resulted in the expulsion from the Trump/GOP of people like Jennifer Rubin, David Frum, Max Boot, George Will, Joe Scarborough, Steve Schmidt, Michael Steele, Bill Krystol, Pete Wilson and many many others

Forbes is precisely the type of GQP Trump KKKultist that hoped COVID would decimate the brown population in this country.

Manchin after Schumer speech: “Waaaaah waaaaaaah, how awful, how horrible, how insulting, I can’t believe this, woe and woe and woe!!! How could you kill bipartisanship and civility like this!!!”

Manchin while McConnell played partisan games of chicken with the debt ceiling while spewing accusations and partisan blame game insults at the Dems: crickets

If the fucking picture clear for everyone yet? Raise your hand if you still don’t fucking get this guy. He’s a trojan horse…no more, no less. Come 2023 and the GQP takeover, he is going to put his dusky little anus up in the air for the GQP and vote with them like he’s being paid to…because he is and will be paid to…and he won’t be forcing them to beg to get rid of the filibuster or use reconciliation, etc. He’ll just help them outright and call it “bipartisanship” because he pretends to actually be a Dem.

Nobody’s letting him do anything. If he’s out front playing attack dog, it’s because the Oval Office instructed him to.

They’re really doing the community a favor by refusing to get vaccinated. How else are you going to get rid of the MAGAts in town if they don’t exterminate themselves?

Andrew Yang is no Ralph Nader. More like a Jill Stein.
