Bernie Sanders Accuses WaPo Of Bias Over Amazon Criticism

and not least of his flaws is thinking he is entitled to “good” articles about himself:

“See, I talk about that all of the time and then I wonder why The Washington Post — which is owned by Jeff Bezos, who owns Amazon — doesn’t write particularly good articles about me,” Sanders said, according to the Post.

You do realize I was agreeing with you, don’t you? I was making the same point in a different way that polls, especially at this point in time, are pretty much useless for anything besides how things are beginning to shape up for the primary.

I do not, however, agree with you that Clinton bears absolutely no responsibility at all for her loss. It was a perfect storm and all the things you mention factor in, but so does Robby Mook.

I made no such comment.
Nor would I.

The 70,000 votes that gave Trump his EC majority.

Understood. That’s not the part of what you said that I’m questioning. And I think you know that as well.

The “again” part is because I think Warren is not a naturally gifted politician. Pretty much the opposite.

Hard to clarify. As to the Pocahontas DNA ‘thing’, you’re right, it kinda was forgotten till she made the ‘look here, I really am part American Indian, AncestryDNA says so’ news. But … that’s it. Otherwise she appears to be, on more than one occasion, a block or two ahead of the other candidates, introducing issues with supporting ‘plans’. She’s actually branded herself as the ‘candidate with a plan’. BFD if she wins the nomination (against Trump’s plans). Surprised she didn’t do same on gun control, going radical with background checks, licensing (with state/federal required training), ban on assault weapons, manufactured smart technology requirements built into every consumer purchase and government required purchase order), etc. Auto industry got onboard with emissions MPG requirements.

But beating Scotty Brown was her greatest political accomplishment IMO - w/o any help from the WH, not even Biden flying in for a lousy Sunday picnic rally. And MA has one of the largest independent voter bases of any state, so don’t say it was guaranteed - like NY. Remember, it was her 1st campaign against a sitting senator. Sure it was a special election or whatever they call it but the woman’s got guts, the kinda guts and perseverance required to win it all.

I agree: It was not guaranteed, not by a long shot – but Scott Brown was a zero and Elizabeth Warren was not – which, in that election, did the trick.

Brown was elected in 2010 only because the Democrats ran a truly lousy candidate.

Warren deserves credit for her 2012 victory, but so do the voters of Massachusetts.

Fox for the Democratic leaning center, or possibly Democratic leaning center left. But Democratic leaning left? No. Not a chance. Not a whiff of it, unless we take Josh’s mention of Jacobin every now and then as promotion. I myself don’t think so.

@yolomike Moderate left as you put it sounds about right to me.

Fox for other than righties in the sense it’s become incendiary and meant I believe to enrage.

Okay. Word. And I think I knew you meant that from the beginning. I just wanted to quibble because this site is so anti-left it puts Rahm Emanuel to shame a lot of the time.

It’s quite unlikely that the geriatric “leopard” from Vermont will change his spots enough to convince many that he’s other than an arrogant jerk with insufficient intellectual prowess to be an effective President…

LOL! Great description Reminds me of a gym wife and I frequented years ago (when vanity ruled) where there was this gym mgr named Spiro. And yes, everyone called him “Zero.” Not to go on but also had a wealthy slacker friend who was of Sicilian descent. Said in his ancestry he was considered a Count. And another in our gang of nonconformist slackers immediately called him “The Count of No Account.” He stewed on it for about six months (Sicilians do that).

Brown was elected in 2010 only because the Democrats ran a truly lousy candidate.

Martha somebody. didn’t she take a two week vacation during the campaign? I remember it b/c who gets to take a two week vacation? And she was infamous as well, something to do while prosecutor.

Yes point taken. but probably better than the morn consult poll of Iowa
that overpolled >50 age by double, and which everyone is taking
for evidence that Bernie is tanking. Given that Bernie usually polls mcuh better
with < 50 this really makes the results suspect.

Also the Texas poll of Emerson has Bernie at 16 and Warren at 14,
but also has Bernie beating Trump by 8 pts and Warren in Margin of Error.
