Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) on Sunday declined the chance to criticize former President Trump for defending his supporters’ chants of “hang Mike Pence” on the day of the Capitol insurrection.
Wow. How surprising! Not.
The good news here is that the question was asked 3 times. At least some attempt was made to hold Barrasso’s traitorous feet to the fire. Not that it worked.
Meanwhile: “Vice President Harris emphasized the word ‘the,’ here’s how this spells trouble for the Democrats.”

If he had not defended the supporters and supported the outcry, Barrasso would’ve been next on the list of harassing phone calls and death threats.

Media types need to begin these interviews of Republicans with a general question such as, "Is there anything Trump has done or said or could do or say that you would criticize?
If they say “Yes” or “Maybe,” then go through a littany of the worst things he’s done or said and get the interviewee’s response. S/he will probably appear quite obviously to be a fool or a liar or both.
If they say “No” or “Probably not,” then just say they are too stupid or subject to lying too much and just end it … show cartoons or something instead for the rest of the segment.

Collectively, these senators who would presumably support the continuation of democratic elections are ready to actively promote autocracy. If rump or a rump wannabe pulls off a coup in '24, these guys will do nothing.
ETA: Senators like Barrasso did not lose their principles overnight. They never had any to lose. Moreover, they’re intellectually and spiritually hollow men who care only for power and for sustaining their allegiance to their corporate patrons. “Machiavellian” is too flattering a word for these monsters.
Why review a list? Make the fool specify precisely what constitutes their criticism. Make the interviewee tell us. This is too big of a deal to leave anything to chance. In this case, the interviewee says yes or maybe and can’t specifically list tells us exactly who they are and why they should never appear on a TV news show again.
