Attorney General Bill Barr said on Wednesday that he doesn’t remember President Donald Trump asking him to hold a press conference to declare that Trump had not broken the law with his phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
There’s a lot of space between “I don’t remember” and “it never happened.” Barr’s going to need something more solid than that to cover his fat butt. And if he’s going to be believed, he needs to say it under oath or threat of 18 U.S.C. 1001.

Barr’s just trying to do his best to help with the impeachment inquiry and distract a bit.
I’d suggest he go say it under oath, but prevaricating under oath doesn’t seem to be a problem for him.
How about a press release that said Trump did not commit any crime (like bribery or extortion, since you said no campaign finance law violation)? Did he ask for that, if not a press conference?
“If you’re talking about press reports that he asked me to have a news conference, the fact is, I don’t remember any such request,” Barr told a reporter when asked about the Washington Post’s report on Trump’s alleged request.
