Attorney General Bill Barr acknowledged in an interview last week that, as the nation’s top law enforcement official, “I’m not supposed to get into politics.” Then he went and did it anyway.

One of the things about Bill Barr that doesn’t get a lot of attention is he’s just kind of dumb. He’s a terrible liar. He does it all the time but they’re just so obvious. When he tries to spin things, he does it badly. His “legal arguments” in support of whatever corrupt or absurd position he’s trying to support are spectacularly lazy and laughably wrong. He’s just a corrupt dumb ass willing to say literally anything to support a tyrant.
And LowBarr is even less trustworthy than Fat Nixon (if that’s even possible)

Sigh, just guessing that most Trump supporters don’t know what socialism is. It needs to be pointed out that not only are Social Security and Medicare socialist in nature but police and fire departments are as well, the Interstates, National Parks, etc. A country can have a capitalist economy with social programs and services that one could slap a socialist label on.
This IS a fork in the road election. It boils down to a binary choice: right wing authoritarian rule, or the continuation of democratic rule by the people. In other words Biden must win! Vote!!
Um, the only folks creating this situation are Trump, Barr and the RNC.
“They are creating an incendiary situation where there’s going to be loss of confidence in the vote, it’ll be a close vote,” Barr said. “People will say ‘The President won Nevada — oh, wait a minute! We just discovered a hundred thousand ballots, every vote must be counted!’”

So, this is a true story.
My wife’s sister and BIL live in western Kansas, near the Colorado line. Little town, 1800 residents. Went something like 80% for Trump, although I’m pretty sure BIL didn’t vote for him, and maybe sis didn’t either. Anyway.
Back on the late 1990s, the town’s movie theater was going broke, because it couldn’t compete with VHS etc. Well, they couldn’t have that, so the county bought the theater, and now runs it, open on Friday and Saturday nights.
Then, in the 2000s, the local grocery store was going bust. Couldn’t make payroll and keep the doors open. Nearest next store is 40 miles away. So the town bought the grocery store, and runs it to this day.
Those people aren’t socialists: they’re out-and-out communists.
They are so fucking stupid that they absolutely cannot understand what they are.
ETA: I should point out, though, that they are sucking very much on government’s socialist teat. The average age for white people in the county is probably around 60, bunches of them are on social security. The rest who farm, are sucking down enormous subsidies. If you took away the subsidies and SS, the county’s economy would vaporize. There would be no one but pronghorns living there in about five years.
They ought to be praising socialism, when they’re not out communisting.
So Barr warns against socialism under Biden, and in the same interview goes on to promote the idea that “parents should receive a government credit card with up to $15,000 to spend on schooling”. That $15,000 figure, by the way, is about 30% more than it currently costs to educate a student in the public school system. Reminds me of “keep the government out of my Medicare”. The intellectual dissonance is stunning.
This country has long been a union of both capitalist and socialist policies, and some of the most beloved national institutions (Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security) lean to socialism. But don’t tell that to the Trumpers! Their heads might explode.
I don’t think LowBarr or any of the other corrupt, incompetent and treasonous GOOPers could define socialism. To them all it means is Baaaaaaaad.

It almost seems as though Barr knows he has a lot to lose if Biden wins in November. Does he think he might be in trouble for some reason? Why? He hasn’t done anything wrong, has he?
