Attorney General Bill Barr reportedly made efforts to dispute the Southern District of New York’s (SDNY) criminal case of Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s former lawyer and fixer who was convicted for violating campaign finance laws.

The dam is breaking at SDNY.

Are we all upstream or downstream of the dam?

Don’t forget that Cohen was the only one charged and convicted. What about “Individual 1”? Or Trump Org executives and American Media excutives?

All I want to know is, if he’s not pardoned, are there sufficient grounds for Biden’s DoJ to bring charges against Barr, and even if he is pardoned, can one be granted a plenary pardon for any and all crimes one may have committed even if no charges have yet been brought or even an investigation launched?

And while we’re at it, is it possible to repeal the pardon power, via amendment, or at least severely curtail it so that it’s not the president’s sole power to grant one, and it has to be reviewed and approved by others, including judges? It’s such a stupid and dangerous power.

So Barr interfered in the investigation of Individual1 in the 130k hush payment

Then got Berman fired for no cause except that Berman was investigating Individual1

AND Barr refuses to make the reason public why Trump was not indicted…

These and other material lies like misrepresenting the Mueller Report to the public - is Obstruction of Justice - impeachment investigations is mandatory…otherwise, we do not have a just rule of law or democracy!

“Meddle,” “dispute,” “contend”: Let’s call it what it is. Obstruction of justice.

Unlikely he’ll be charged, dereliction of duty to country is impeachable, but not illegal.

Yes, a pardon can be granted that way. Gross, but true.

Yes, with sufficient support in the Senate, we could amend the Constitution to remove the pardon power (and we should).

How about abuse of power, obstruction of justice and lying to congress?

Does anyone know what the status is on the House subpoena? Nadler seemed to up the ante in threatening the DOJ budget if Barr didn’t comply (obviously he won’t). And then…nothing. WTF??? Even if the senate doesn’t convict (again obviously they won’t) they need to impeach.

This SOB is like the little kid standing on a kitchen chair by an open cabinet with a smashed cookie jar on the ground that’s been in a thousand magazine cartoons as a situation in which guilt is obvious and yet being denied to widespread hilarity. He’s been rigging things to get Trump out of every legal jam since he was confirmed and he blandly denies it every time as the instances mount up and up in a teetering pile. If sheer brazenness is an aggravating factor he’ll go away until he’s 173 years old.

Barr is scheduled to testify before HJC July 28th and he says he will show up.

Alan Weisselberg would be an obvious subject, regardless of Individual 1’s temporary (and thoroughly bullshit) immunity.

Along with leading the prosecution of Cohen, the SDNY is also in the middle of investigating Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani.

I’m not sure at this point I want SDNY to bring cases against these kleptocrats, who will just have the prosecution ultimately dropped a la Flynn, and they can’t be re-tried next January because of the Fifth Amendment. Granted, like Louis L’Amour, simply because you finish the first book, doesn’t mean there won’t be another 50 to read.

Going to be a lot of non answers and weasel talk.

“If you think Barr is an evil genius you are half right.”

Just one of the quotes from law professor Jed Shugerman on the podcast Trumpcast on Slate today. He does an excellent job of showing what a truly bad lawyer Barr is, what a religious nut he is and gets into the weeds on the whole Unitary Executive bullshit. It is a great and entertaining listen.
