A CBS News spokesperson told Reuters that the episode needed "additional reporting and Weiss said in a statement to The New York Times: “My job is to make sure that all stories we publish are the best they can be. Holding stories that aren’t ready for whatever reason—that they lack sufficient context, say, or that they are missing critical voices—happens every day in every newsroom. I look forward to airing this important piece when it’s ready.”

Sticking with “if the WH doesn’t respond, we can’t run the story”

High pitched sound waves, causing headaches, etc. Dog whistle?

Another spokesperson for the company insisted that the noise machines are “a safety initiative … intended to deter and prevent illegal overnight parking in the area” with no connection to “immigration enforcement”.

So, Bari figured this’d hold the audience for fifteen or twenty minutes, satisfy the advertisers and/or please the White House:

Why does Bari Weiss hate CBS?

I think we can all rest assured in the knowledge that Bari Weiss is a goddamned reich wing, corporate fascist shill, and she is doing at CBS exactly what she was hired to do.

I love that we’re living during the time when the most ham-fisted clodhoppers are getting paid all the money. Even as an agent of state capture of the media, Bari Weiss is less elegant than a newborn giraffe struggling to its feet.

Chaplain Corps: Hegseth announced an overhaul of the military’s Chaplain Corps, with an emphasis on (presumably Christian) spirituality: “Our chaplains are chaplains, not emotional support officers, and we’re going to treat them as such,” Hegseth said in a video. “Faith and virtue were traded for self-help and self-care.”

It’s always, ALWAYS the men who need therapy the most who say this shit.

This whole episode is going to tank their WB bid. Beyond the house of cards financial situation of the whole Ellison project right now, it’s just exposing them all as rank amateurs that are sure to loose investors value over the long term in the entertainment industry.

ETA They are not there with the city’s permission.

Impossible. Oracle buying up outdated chips so that Nvidia will let them cut to the front of the line to buy the new chips (all to sit in warehouses for months or years while the data centers are built and connected to the electric grid) is a business model that’s sure to work. If you disagree you must be a gay transgender communist.

Imagine if just by refusing to comment, you could stop any story from running. You would literally never find out anything unflattering about anybody. It amounts to asking people for their blessing to publish your reporting about them.

This is how it’s done.

It’s no time to give up. Weep into your eggnog and rum toddies, if you must, but next year is a major election year, and we all ought to pitch in to get rid of the Republican support machine that’s sustaining the Worst President in American History (twice). For those who make New Years resolutions, that’s the biggie. Along with losing weight, eating healthy, and getting more exercise.

I have a feeling Bari Weiss would have been much better off shilling her right wing ideology from somewhere in the background; the deeper the background, the better.

She doesn’t appear to have the requisite skills and polish to be the face of a major network - as this fiasco shows - and it’ll catch up to her sooner than later.

Can we give it to Stephen Miller, trusting that it’ll kick all of the dirt out of the box while burying its litter?
