I tend to agree. There is nothing that slob will say that can spread sunshine on this inquiry. He is, and always has been, a nothing in rumpled, layered clothing.

Just a note: the (alleged) criminal contempt of congress has already occurred. The indictment cannon has fired. He did refuse to testify and to produce documents, that did impede the House Jan 6th investigation, and that did likely motivate others to defy their subpoenae. Offering to testify now, months later, does not undo the crime. It’s a little like robbing a bank and then offering to give the money back if charges are dropped. It don’t work like that.
Also, indictments are forever. They don’t go away with the expiration of the term of congress, though of course they can get buried at the behest of a dirty AG.

Since 01/20/21, Donnie’s ‘executive privilege’ has had all the force and validity of the NDAs he gave to White House employees. Nothing is being waived here. (ed.)
And e.p. has even less power with Bannon, who hadn’t been a White House employee for years on 1/6/21.

Let’s start with claim 1 and 5. This BREAKING story is about a letter … that Trump has not signed and may not sign.
Which means it’s not so much a news story as an intervention, presumably by the “some advisers” trying to convince Trump not to sign this.
But even if the letter had been signed, it would be news primarily because it was a lie, not because — as asserted in claim 2 — it “clear[ed] the way for his former chief strategist [sic]” to testify. One way three named journalists (or perhaps two, plus WaPo’s Mar-a-Lago stenographer) might figure out that claim 2 is false is by looking at the subpoena to Bannon, which among other things asked for any references he made to the insurrection on his podcasts, something which (even his attorney Robert Costello conceded) could not be covered by any claim of privilege.
In fact, Costello conceded that seven of seventeen things included in the subpoena could not be covered by any Executive Privilege invocation.

The committee may start the questioning by asking, “Mr. Bannon, are you a piece of shit?” He either lies or acknowledges his essential nature.
Maybe the committee can get something out of him that implicates Trump.

They are all hoping that they can hold off doing time until there is another GOP POTUS. Bannon probably will have served his time in the can for defying the subpoenae before 2025 and hopefully gets an all expenses return trip to his cell when more information comes out about his involvement in J6.
They may have to strap him naked to a gurney and run him through a car wash before he gets into close proximity to the other inmates and guards, for their protection, of course.

Pigs are actually quite likable and intelligent. By and large, they have a gregarious nature and, btw, they wallow in mud only because the do not have the sweat glands necessary to regulate their body temperature. Rather than besmirching this excellent species with an untoward comparison to Bannon, could we simply agree that Bannon is a sui generis scumbucket?

Bannon has played games with the J6 committee all along. He should have disappeared after getting his pardon instead he wants to pretend to be a player when in actuality he is nothing but a low rent shyster.

How can Dump waive executive privilege? He is not the president, beside Bannon was long removed from working in the White House, plus, the real, actual president of the United States, Joseph Biden waived executive almost a year ago. The committee should make it clear, Dump’s so-called waiver is immaterial.

Pigs actually make great pets, they are very smart and sociable. The only problem with them is that they usually get huge. We have friends that rescued one and he ended up weighing over 500 pounds, which is not an animal you could let in your house. He was very friendly and talkative and shared a pen with two pot-bellied pigs. He had a tendency to bully them, which is the only negative thing you could say about him.

They should not engage on that issue. It’s irrelevant, because they won’t agree to bannon’s terms for testifying. Also, if Bannon says he can now testify due to getting approval from the lord high poobah of the church of the three shirts, the committee is not required to say there is no such church. Bannon is either willing to testify under the same set of conditions as the other witnesses, or he is not. His professed reasons don’t matter, save at his trial. Which begins in 8 days, regardless of whether he now testifies.
