The penalty for criminal contempt is a bad joke. Inherent contempt, otoh, has a $100,000 fine and jail until you agree to testify. The Committee is a wet fireceracker.
I am 100% serious. Jeremy Kernodle was an excellent appellate attorney at Haynes & Boone, and by all appearances (including by promptly dismissing that dumb Trump election lawsuit) a fine judge. I heartily approve of his appointment to the Eastern District bench.
