Hale added that he had “great concern” about the case because the gun group was trying to use bankruptcy “as a tool to win its dissolution lawsuit, and that is not an appropriate use of bankruptcy.”

“But don’t get me wrong,” the judge quickly added. “You’re still morally bankrupt.”

Very perceptive for a Judge in Texas, even a Federal one. Judge Harlin Hale sets a good example.

It wouldn’t release its bankruptcy filing to its own Board of Directors? Hooray for transparency!

Bill Brewer’s litigation strategy usually involves filing as many peripheral lawsuits as possible, in hopes that one or more of them might actually be successful. It also allows him to keep churning out 7-figure monthly fee statements. There really ought to be a support group for all his former clients.

It is worth reading all 169 pages. As much as you may have read in the news, the complaint has lots more stunning details. The level of self-dealing and thievery was just breathtaking.

Just so ya know, this slow talkin’, slow walkin’ image of Texans doesn’t mean that all 29 million of us are dumber than dirt.

Some have perfected the act so well that folks don’t know they have been beat until the door slams shut. Hale even has the nickname "Cooter’.

But he seems to have some cred.

The NRA can appeal and they likely will, but I suspect they are in a 'New York State of Mind."

And that I assume means LaPierre and his sycophants would lose control, something I doubt they could risk so the bankruptcy door now appears closed.
