(But seriously, when we talk about “deleting a file” in the 21st century, we mean “moving it to the recycling bin/trashcan” where it can easily be copied back out. Even “deleting the file” by emptying the trashcan just marks the space as eligible for re-use, there are several common utilities to undo this operation. Remember Hillary “bleaching her bits”? BleachBit is a common utility that simply overwrites the data before marking the space eligible for re-use. Makes the data forensics guys work a lot harder.)

Reading the technical document referenced.
My experience with MSSQL server gets me about 3/4 the way into what they are discussing. Some of it I get conceptually.
That is one delicious taken down. The Audit technical personnel likely are feeling very defensive right now. God just spoke to them. And they were bad, bad, bad. And I need to read it again, but I swear they basically got very nicely told they corrupted the entire process.

I think this is right but it also suggests a wrinkle in the story.
Insofar as a Trumpist local pol is not entirely cynical, just deluded, they might genuinely think that a fair count of the votes would give Trump a victory. So that if they did gain power over elections, swearing an oath to the state constitution, reminded of their duty, etc., they would run the election (under the new restrictive rules now being voted in place) normally. The kicker would only come when they tallied the results–but by then, with each town and ward reporting publicly, and each county doing so in turn, it would be too late to change the arithmetic.
It all depends on the cynical vs. deluded breakdown among their ranks. And I have no idea.

If they would just test the ballot paper for panda shit or panda DNA, then they would know . . . whether incontinent pandas in China were involved in grinding the bamboo into paper to make ballots . . . that magically showed up in the U.S. with the valid signatures of Arizona voters. I don’t think this story turns out well for the Ninjas.

If it’s a database, I assume it’s not in flat files. I can’t remember how Microsoft SQLServer does it, but even absent an effort to build a high performance deployment, it creates one or more containers and a log file, the latter used for DB recovery. If this is remotely important, it should also be getting backed up automatically, unless somebody was trying to shoot up some bitbleach to protect against covid (all those Chinese bamboo fibers, y’know) and spilled it on the server. I’ve assumed this is all on Win Server, if it’s on linux, in general “rm stolenVotes” won’t do the job. I don’t think any of these Cyber Ninja people have any technical skills beyond surfing to their favorite child porn websites (in Russia, of course).

Above links show the frauditors reassembled the RAID drives in the wrong configuration. After maricopa county administered a clue-by-four, the “deleted” files were magically “recovered”. And this is alright…I’m sure that there are many elections where an official thought their candidate would win and it turned out they lost. GA is probably the best example in the last election, you can be sure that Raffensperger, Sperling, even Kemp all wanted Trump to win and expected him to win, so Biden winning was a shock to them. Despite that, they followed the rules of the election and didn’t try to cheat or change the result, and they defended it in the face of Trump and his minion’s attacks against them. And, the first two were obviously pissed that Trump was trying to change the result by pressuring them.
That’s how it’s supposed to be obviously…the worry is that even the partisans like that are under attack simply for following the law and allowing Trump to lose. If we get people who see the result and then decide it has to be changed and make it change, then we’re in real trouble…a few well placed bad actors like that could undo an election. And, that would be in spite of people knowing what happened, the evidence would come out and it would be clear they cheated…they just don’t care as long as they hold the power in the end.
