Is the AZ Audit (Cyber Ninjas) registered for, and paying, the Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax (Sales Tax) on the money they are raising? The money is sent to a commercial company for a very specific thing (the audit), and does return value to the customers (the auditing of the ballots). And of course this extends to the Maricopa county, and possibly Phoenix city, sales taxes (and any other special districts).
The reason that we have Joe Biden as president is because all of these elections officials, of both parties, did their jobs and ignored immense pressure to cheat for Trump. We’re lucky that we have officials like that, who put our democracy and Constitution before their party…doubly so that the Republicans actually upheld their roles. The commissioners in Maricopa County continue to refuse to go along with the party’s lies about the election, and are being even more savage than Democrats about it. It should give us hope that there are people like this, down at the lowest levels of power, who are willing to stand up against cheating by their own party.
The worry is that they won’t be there…we saw how the Tea Party nuts took over the local Republican party apparatus in many places, odds are we’re going to see the same thing happen from the Trumpublicans, who are very likely going to drive out any reasonable Republicans (either because of the ability to swing a small turnout election or by threats against officials). And, they will have no problem cheating in the next election, either by blocking voters or by changing the results. Breaking federal laws on the processing of elections won’t matter to them, they will be convinced that Republicans won no matter the vote outcome and find ways to make that be the final result.
The people like this are holding the line to keep our democracy working…everyone else has to go out and vote to make sure that Trumpublicans are unable to force their dictatorship onto us.
