Returning a verdict this quickly doesn’t look good for the accused.

Good lord but that was fast. It means things were clear cut for jury and the jurors all saw it the same way.

A verdict this fast in a trial like this should be a good sign for a conviction. But I’m not putting any money on it.

I am cautiously optimistic since they only deliberated for 11 hours.

And there’s this:

.

11 hours.

That's pretty fast but it's hard to believe it took longer than the time it takes to write "fry him".

Did you mean cross burning Chauvin supporters?

I am too. If this goes the way we hope it could be a first step in changing the way policing is done in this country. Fingers crossed.

I am more than cautiously optimistic because of quickness of deliberations. (My office is in the back hallway of a courthouse.)

Ten hours is maybe a good sign? Either a juror has been stuck in a bad place throughout, so no use for further deliberations or Chauvin is, I hope, toast.

Exactly. It’s way past time for a guilty verdict and some accountability in cases like this. It can not, MUST not, continue to be the case that the police get away with murder.

The verdict is expected to be read between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm central time, a Minneapolis CBS affiliate reported.

We’ll know in an hour or so.

My heart is with my Minneapolis family and friends. I was in MN when George Floyd was killed. I remember the anguish and grief. I hope the city isn’t thrown into a paroxysm of violence again.

May justice prevail.

From NPR:

The group is more racially diverse than Hennepin County, Minn., as a whole: Six are white, four are Black, and two identify as multiracial. Five are men and seven are women.

Reaching a verdict this quickly with a group this diverse reinforces your assertion.

Chauvin’s best case outcome, speaking realistically, was a hung jury. This jury is not hung. They might not be convicting on all three charges, but I can’t imagine he’s walking away.
