Auto Scrap Billionaire Who Paid To Send National Guard To Southern Border Sounds Off On Why He Did It | Talking Points Memo

The auto scrap billionaire who is funding South Dakota’s deployment of national guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border told TPM in an interview that he was making the contribution because “this President would rather help other countries than help America.”

Thank you for your service, Mr. Johnson.

Now fuck off with your Quizzical view of America.

“I fought in Vietnam and a lot of my buddies died over there,” Willis Johnson told TPM in a Tuesday phone conversation. “And now we’ve got people saying we can’t even protect our own borders.”

Johnson went on to call Biden an “idiot,” saying that the President “just wants to do everything that Trump didn’t try to do — he doesn’t care if it’s right or wrong.”

Seems more applicable if you shift the names by one Presidential term…

“This President would rather help other countries than help America.”

I could’ve sworn that President Biden just signed a $2,000,000,000,000 (that’s trillion with a “t”) relief package for Americans.

And that he’s desperate to invest another $4-6 trillion in America’s infrastructure.

But lying, crap-spewing, GOP derpbags like this jackass are doing everything they can to fight that.

(I guess I just hallucinated it all.)

A teacher I worked with warned me if Biden was elected the economy would tank, stock market crash, blah blah blah. I guess he was wrong.

If they are going to stage a production, what about dinner theater?
Maybe arms and the man or a really abstract version of the fantastiks!

Buffet dinner, beef tenders or ham before show time! Open bar at intermission. Come make the night of it.

Trump already tried this military deployment as campaign ad shtick. Didn’t really work for him and seems even less likely to go well for Noem.

So, does this mean the SD National Guard is now a mercenary organization?

P.S. I thought Sheldon Adelson was dead. I guess in hindsight I’m just remembering him as even better looking!

My thoughts exactly. This is all a show for the RW. The dog days of summer are coming and they need something to be foaming at the mouth about. Same old, same old.

It is a dangerous slippery slope when the rich can effectively deploy the National Guard with their money.

I’m familiar with Copart. It’s a popular source for purchasing rebuildable late model wrecks as well as parts. Unlike an eBay you actually have to pay a annual fee to just peruse and bid on vehicles and parts.
So Mr. Johnson is taking the fees from customers to pay for his let’s play GI Joe at the border fantasy. What a racket.

I think he was repeating what Donnie told him.

Let me get this straight.

Our National Guard is being hired as mercenaries by a private citizen ?
Sounds a little like Star Wars.
