Just a quick review of the numbers: South Korea and the US each got its first virus case on the same day (Jan 19 or 20). Since then, here are the results of how each dealt with the virus. SK has a population of about 51 million; it’s had about 240 deaths. The US population is about 320 million; it’s had about 41,000 deaths. SK’s population is about one seventh that of the US, but the US death count is 173 times that of SK. Heckuva job, Donnie.

Kemp should send the National Guard into Atlanta, this is like the Mayor is rebelling against him.

Let me guess…she’s a Democrat, right? This is so wrongheaded even some Republicans are pushing back. It’s instructive that virtually every survey shows 90-95% of the public continues to support stay-at-home orders. The media should emphasize just how much of a fringe element these people are. Also time for some mainstream investigative reporting on who is coordinating the demonstrations. Josh can’t do it all!

Strange as it seems, technically she and Trump agree.

Trump doesn’t actually believe or care, he just didn’t want to look bad in front of the cameras…

Also, he has an out no matter which way it goes in GA. Kemp is his fall guy or his protegee depending on what goes down.

?? Wait ten minutes and Trump will change his position. It’s impossible not to agree with him at some point.

It’s going to go bad. Georgia was already on the upwards trajectory, this’ll just make them the next big outbreak spot.

And it’ll go a lot worse for them than even NYC did, because they don’t have the same level of healthcare availability.

I wasn’t aware that Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms was the daughter of a somewhat famous singer… I don’t remember Major Lance’s name, but I do have heard his songs before…

Many people are saying Gubnor Kemp is gonna use his AR-15 and pick-em-up truck to haul citizens into local stores and churches.

Those establishments which do open should keep lists of the contact info of their patrons. It will make any possible contact tracing later much simpler.

Sane people should keep a list of those establishment which open early for purposes of boycotting them into bankruptcy.

Of course she’s wildly right and he’s wildly wrong, but boy, you don’t need these conflicting messages in the middle of a crisis. I used to do this for a living. He just sprang this on her. You don’t do that. Imagine the implications for the city’s public health people, police, medical systems, everything. Absolute worst thing you can do.

“I’m going to let him make his decision,” Trump told reporters on Wednesday. “But I told him I totally disagree.”

If Trump is letting him make the decision, it means he could have stopped this. So he’s admitting he bears ultimate responsibility. We should keep that in mind as the situation plays out in Georgia.
