Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced on Monday that she tested positive for COVID-19 despite experiencing no symptoms.
Now that is not fair.
Please take care, Mayor. We need you.
Itâs a surprise that we arenât seeing more positive tests from officials and others who are going out a lotâŚitâs really weird how this virus is affecting people. We have no idea how widespread it is because of things like this, people who feel pretty much normal but have it and arenât tested. And then you get people who actually have symptoms and test negative like me when I was tested two weeks ago). The system of testing has failed us so completely, people just donât know whatâs going on, and we canât get people to stay inside and play it safe outside.
But remember, our so-called âpresidentâ says that the disease is â99% harmless.â
So yes, Madam Mayor, please take very good care of
yourself, and your husband as well, because we all know that Trump is full of shit.

Trump: You see Covid is harmless even for black peopel!!
Mayors are bearing the brunt of so much of this pandemic. The Mayor of Phoenix, Kate Gallego, has been begging FEMA to assist with testing and theyâve refused. Theyâve basically declared victory and are quitting.
"People were running out of gas. And this is as many months in. Weâve asked FEMA if they could come and do community-based testing here.
âWe were told theyâre moving away from that, which feels like theyâre declaring victory while weâre still in crisis mode.â
Grotesque negligence and dereliction of duty.
" âStartlingâ"
Brings to mind DL Hugelys reaction when he found out he had it.
I think for some that testing and tracing sounded good until they found out the steps to make it successful.
You got to have a reliable test.
You have to test everyone you can.
You have to have quick turn around on results.
You have to tell people to isolate themselves until such time as they receive their test results. (there have been quite a few stories of people going out and about while waiting for their test results)
You have to have trained tracers.
You have to have people answer their damn phones, or the tracers need to leave messages.
And those that may have come into contact with someone who tested positive they too need to get tested and self quarantine.
So itâs not a two step process, but itâs the only way to contain the spread.
Only story on TPM right now that involves a DemocratâŚ
Literally. The . Only. One.
Just sayinâŚ
Iâm startled by her last two names.
Lance Bottoms.
Well, this site cut its teeth on digging up dirt on Republicans.
I doubt that will change any time soon.
And besides, we like it that way.
Dailykos.com and Axios.com have lots of stories on Dems.
Just ordered a new external hard drive to be able to expand my list of GOP Covidiots sorely deserving to be impacted by a Democrat hoax.
All well and good but I doubt that if asked to describe his site, would say itâs âAnti Republicanâ. I bet he would say it is meant to informative left of center news.
Is it possible she may have picked up the virus during Rayshard Brooks funeral? She may have tested negative right afterwards but the funeral was on June 23 and now a few weeks later it could have had time to multiply in her system and now given her a positive test.
Everyone wore masks there from the pictures I saw online, expect the babies and toddlers, but they also all sat close together and didnât do any social distancing.
Just a thought.
âWe are particularly focused on reporting on abuses of power and betrayals of the public trustâŚâ

We have three simple goals at TPM:
My point is retweets arenât that.
AlsoâŚ
Emergency! We have two senate elections and 16 Electoral votes we are in danger of losing!
I did not think you were talking about âretweetsâ. I thought we were talking about the ratio between stories about Republicans vs. stories about Democrats. Sorry for that misunderstanding. I donât, however, think that this story is just a retweet, and I am glad to have seen it.
OT: Bolsonaro now may change his mind about hydroxychloroquine and the little fluâŚ
