If only ALL media outlets could match the journalistic excellence of ProPublica, this would be a much better nation.

Not all the details, of course, but wasn’t this basically known from the impeachment investigation? Trump sent Perry – instead of Trump going himself, due to some sort of perceived slight in not giving in to Trump’s extortion efforts – to Zelensky’s inauguration, and Perry immediately went shopping for natural gas deals with the Ukrainian government.

At the end of 2015, while Perry was serving on the company’s board, Energy Transfer received a federal permit to build a gas-export terminal in Lake Charles, in southern Louisiana.

The same Lake Charles that just took a direct hit from a cat 4 hurricane. Wonder how that gas terminal is doing today.

" ‘Even if it skirts the criminal statute, it’s still unethical,’ says Richard Painter, the top ethics lawyer in the White House of President George W. Bush, with whom we shared our findings".

When you have someone from the Bush 43 Administration calling you “dirty”, you’re filthy.

And yet this won’t even be a blip in the corruption story of the Trump Administration. If something like this happened under Obama, it would have been The Major Scandal of the his two terms in office.

Trump, Inc. is a great ongoing podcast and whenever I see a new one in my feed I always listen to it right away. Heard this one this morning.

These guys, especially Rick Perry, are inept at governing but even more inept at shakedowns and other criminal activities. Governor Good Hair needs to get his order in a for a pardon soon because the line for that is getting really long, and he is incredibly guilty. Granting pardons will be Trump’s final money maker as he drags his sorry ass out of the White House while his kids are plugging the toilets and stealing all of the copper wire.

Article describes well what Rick “pray for rain” Perry was up to, but it’s hard to believe a 20 billion dollar deal selling american LNG to ukraine was going down without imPotus getting his cut.

Yes, it came up but was never fully documented like this. Hopefully they won’t let this one fade into memory without some prosecution.

They’re all rushing to stuff their pockets before the SS Trump goes down. The Nazis did the same thing before setting sail to Argentina, Paraguay and other friendlies.

The two quietest members of Trump’s team, Perry and McMahon, who worked opaquely behind the scenes and slipped away discreetly, could very well be the central characters of the largest grifts by this most corrupt administration. If so may it all come to light.

It will come to light if 1) Biden wins and 2) Biden does not go down the ‘let’s heal the nation’, ‘let us unify’, ‘let bygones be bygones’ route. We tried that, it didn’t work. The cancer only spread and grew.

We like to say that Perry was “thinking outside of the box” and “re-imagining the purpose of the Energy Department”.

Same shit. Same guy. Every different damn day!

My thought exactly!!! We knew this was happening even before the whistleblower. Rick Perry was scoring deals for campaign donors. And I guess because he’d announced his resignation, it was no longer critical?? SMH. I’m glad someone took time to investigate, but I deplore the idea that this is new or surprising. Journalists are doing important work, but they’re still incredibly lazy. We will be cleaning out the rubble of this administration for the next five years.

Richard Painter has been a vocal critic/detractor of Trump (and the current state of the GOP) since before the 2016 election, so you’re barking up the wrong tree.

I feel bad, but every time I see ProPublica listed as a co-author I have to skip on.

Great reporting, but I just don’t have time to read it.
