While President Donald Trump prepares for a campaign rally in North Carolina on Saturday, Republican Thom Tillis, a junior senator for the state, is making his position clear that he believes the President is justified in nominating a successor for the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg who died Friday ahead of the election.
I’d read they’ve already taken plans for a Leroy “Newt” Gingrich Annex for exactly that purpose. It was supposed to have an antrium entrance leading from the hall of hypocrites.
I don’t know when the magma breaking is scheduled for, however.
the Democrats should immediately object to any “unanimous consent” motion offered in the Senate, including those requiring that legislation be read on the floor of the Senate prior to passage. And the minute there is no quorum during that reading, a quorum call should be made – requiring the reading to be interrupted until a quorum is re-established.
He’s having another super spreader event tonight? People are saying they have hand sanitizer on the way in and bleach on the way out at these wankfests.
Which is funny because you’d think they’d at least hold it off until after the election to stir up their base. Although, maybe that’s the plan, 11/4 announcement nominee
Tillis such sweet sorrow that we must part with you and welcome Cal to the fold. It is about action and the action is money to Cal, to Sara, to Mark, to Jaime, to Bullock. Cal–money coming right up from me. I’m gonna be broke if these creeps keep defending the orange blight. But a good kinda broke.
the well-qualified and conservative jurist President Trump will nominate [not an activist] who will legislate radical, left-wing policies from the bench
Conservative jurisprudence, original intent and textualism gave us Hobby Lobby which somehow discovered that corporations have sincerely held religious beliefs that cannot be questioned, and Citizens United where the activist Court took it upon itself to rule on an issue that was not raised in the case. Nothing at all radical or activist about those decisions.
That the GOP is in a panicked rush to fill RBG’s seat before it’s even cold is admitting weakness.
They know they’re going to lose the White House.
They know they’re going to lose the Senate.
They know the Dem majority in the House will only grow.
Only those gripped by existential terror would see a 5-3 SCOTUS majority as anything but a strong hand for which there’s no need to rush into anything.
In my opinion, what the real plan is to have that insane 6-3 majority in place before any lawsuits/cases break out from the upcoming protests and lawsuits against the results of the coming election. You are going to piss off the same people whether you do it before or after the election, so why not shave the dice as soon as possible?
