I think so. They’ve both failed upward and become profoundly resentful along the way. Trump was never accepted by the Manhattan elites—a thing he thought he wanted and didn’t get, and never mind if it would have satisfied him for long. Miller was never accepted by the human race. So they understand each other in a profound way.

Back then I could scarcely have imagined how much further we could manage to fall…but we have…so, so far.
What scares me is that – hard as it is to imagine now – we may still not have hit the bottom. Even more terrifying thought: There may be no bottom.
