There has been a wave of articles this afternoon surfacing remarks from Republicans, both members of Congress and senators alike, acknowledging publicly that House Republicans’ push for a vote to formally authorize an impeachment inquiry amounts to a political stunt.
It’s no stunt and the White House clearly knows it: Repugs are desperate to build a counter to the heavy electoral baggage they are carrying, from forced-birthing to Trump and they will dredge, obfuscate, fabricate, lie, slander, and intimidate to forge it; it’s about the narrative.
Members of the Republican party should take heed:

Modest proposal: Open up ethics hearings against every single member of Congress. I’m sure they are all fine people, so the hearings will just be exculpatory. We need to make sure we interview all of their former partners, friends, business associates, customers, financial advisors, and of course a full audit of all of their accounting. All of this will reveal how honest Congress is, so it’s really not a witch hunt. We’re just trying to show how great they are, just like the Republicans are trying to exonerate Biden with these investigations.
They are a bunch of damn liars and are challenging the President to prove it. The man has important things to do, and no time for fools.

Exceptions to abortion bans are not actually exceptions, although we still get to call them exceptions. Lost elections are not actually lost; they are won elections. Elections may be stolen from us, but never lost. Russia Russia Russia is a total deep-state hoax, run by Hillary’s campaign; or at least it was until one second ago; now it is a deep-state conspiracy with Russia which proves that Trump actually won. No evidence for impeachment is actually the reason why we must impeach.
A certain pattern emerges, and it is very consistent. 2+2=5, although watch out, it could be 4, or 3, or 7, or eleventy billion. It depends on what it will serve my interest to say, and that changes from moment to moment. So Listen Carefully!
Because Heaven knows the House doesn’t have anything more constructive or more important to do.
Given that there are few allies in the media, there has to be a full court press to countering this nonsense as soon as possible. Dems cannot, cannot, cannot sit on their hands, this go-round.

Ya know, it comes with age and experience. But what we see in Washington very commonly is deliberate stupidity. I cautioned my grad students about it on their first day in my lab. It was featured in my long winded explanation about lab safety which I considered paramount. I shared the example of what I witnessed myself when I was a grad student. A felliw grad student parked a pint jar of ether in the lab fridge and went home. He’d neglected to tighten the lid. The ether found a spark and exploded the door off the fridge and that door then broke a water pipe which then flooded the lab. I was first on the scene of destruction the next day and made the necessary phone calls for help. Luckily there was a nearby ball valve I could use to shut the water off. It was ugly.

I am still seeing articles about how the Rs impeaching Biden is going to backfire. They’ve been at it already for three years. They don’t pay a price for what used to be political suicide.
What has backfired against these fuggers? It doesn’t matter what the Rs do.
Hell, they could try to secretly raise a rabble army and storm the U.S. Capitol and try to STEAL an election on camera - and it wouldn’t bother their voting base one bit! I know, it sounds far-fetched but you heard it here first.
