You’re so right.
The media and lots of donors got part of their wish and Biden dropped out after a massive campaign against him. However, I’m sure what the media really wanted and was salivating over was an open Dem Convention with the party in chaos. Media usually loves a sequel along with the Dems in disarray and not be able to choose a new nominee and they would love a disastrous sequel to the 1968 Chicago convention. We have no time whatsoever for a speedy primary to select a new nominee.
Biden knew we couldn’t risk an open convention which we lost 8/13 presidential elections and his quick endorsement of Harris along with all Dems rallying around her helps prevent that. It’s why I was filled with dread when people kept offering up replacements to Biden thinking everyone would just accept it and not be dismayed by the new nominee.
Still, I don’t want the Dems to cast out their nominee again. It opens too big of a can of worms if we don’t have our shit together.

Any speculation as to why Mr Hope himself has been slow off the mark to endorse Kamala Harris, enthusiastically or otherwise? He was amongst party heavies pushing Biden to “reconsider his candidacy”, yadda-yadda, and so, Biden did, VP Harris smoothly and seamlessly stepped in his stead, and is off and running hard.

Democratic fundraising continues to soar. According to ActBlue, small-dollar donors donated over $154 million to Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign in the first 48 hours of her campaign.
Of course, the jealousy and fear from the GQP is leading them to yell ‘foul’ about this fundraising phenomenon, saying it’s all smoke and mirrors. Wish I could find the article but a cursory look is coming up empty.
