The smoothness of the hand off and impressive, out of the gate first few days of the Harris campaign suggest that even though Biden’s own staff weren’t clued into his decision or its timing until just before it was announced, Kamala and her key advisors were. A master political move pulled off by a master old politician and a new one who learned a few things from him during the past four years.

Perhaps it’s just hubristic projection on my part, but I also think there’s an aspect of a strong grassroots/base effort that, if NOT Joe, then Kamala.
I was and am pissed that the ‘big donor class’ apparently wanted more seats at the table than they had and imposed their will. But I also understand they wanted Harris gone, too, and that was where I was willing to draw my line. I did/do not want the media-led free-for-all of an open convention.
My contribution to the Harris campaign within 24 hours of her ascension has obviously been joined by MANY others’, which tells me I’m not the only one who feels/felt that way.
(Shorter version: a coalescing of ‘top-down’ AND ‘bottom-up’!?
