Unleashed by anything besides seeking to maximize ad revenue. Seed that drive with a drop of ideology and, well, we can see the results of what it sought out. Paddy Chayefsky predicted this in 1976. They’re mad as hell and they’re not going to take it anymore.
I’d sure like to know how many of these people were homeschooled. Or products of their friendly neighborhood white bread and mayo only private “Christian Academy”.

As someone with a CJ degree, I took a 10 week course in hostage taking and terrorism. Literally the title. In a more organized, cohesive unit, the team would get paranoid and fall apart, once the head of the snake was neutralized, With these loose leaf terrorists, what seemed to mark then end, is when a capitol cop shot and killed one of them.

Though those next 10 years were during a nadir in the German economy (further exacerbated with the global Depression in 1929). Dealing with the ruinous war reparations that Italy, France and GB forced upon them and the decimated industry unable to rebuild from the “Great War,” Hitler and the fascists had a lot of promises they could make that sounded better than the reality the people were living with.
It’s unlikely that that would be replicated here due to a few key differences. Thanks the the pandemic and Trump’s horrendous mismanagement, we are in an economic slump, but ultimately we still have one of the strongest economies in the world and the US Dollar is still the reserve currency of the world, so we aren’t at risk of completely falling off the wagon like Germany was in 1923. So long as Biden can start to turn things around, a lot of the angst will subside among some groups and go back to a low simmer on the back burner for others with no strong source of heat to bring it to a roiling boil again.

Sorry to be slow on the uptake, but those little bolded tidbits made me wonder if this gal is any kin to the Cudd(s) who were famous for their work in extinguishing oil and natural gas well fires.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but I don’t think it’ll be a yuge revelation that lots of folks connected to the US oil & gas industry (ahem, present company excepted) seem to have an inclination toward (shall we say) fascism-curiosity.

I want him to visit one of the centers where they’re keeping the children. I know he probably won’t, but still…not only do I want to watch Tucker Carlson tackled and wheeled off the set on air because he finally just loses his shit completely while screaming “photo-op” in a high-pitched girly voice over and over while tearing out his hair, but you know what? Maybe those kids deserve to hear it from the horse’s mouth, so to speak: “I’m going to do everything in my power to find your mommy and daddy and bring you back together, so you hang in there…I’m on your side.”

I realize that you were disparaging those pants, but when I went to check them out I was very pleased. My mom used to make my husband comfy pants out of wild fabric for lounging at home but the last pair is wearing out and my mom is too old to sew now. These might just fit the bill!

This is very interesting, though I wonder if some of the lack of overlap here isn’t a direct result of the FBI and DHS being warned off these types of investigations, though. While I’m by no means advocating more domestic surveillance of political dissidents, if you spend 2 decades looking for Islamic terrorists, criminal networks run by illegal aliens and Occupy Wall Street type groups, is it any shock that these rioters are new to law enforcement?
