Army Weighs Protection For Vindman Who Promised Dad In Testimony He’d Be ‘Fine’

On its face, Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman’s vow to his father during his opening testimony — that he’d be “fine for telling the truth” — was a heartwarming affirmation of his father’s decision to bring Vindman and his twin brother to America to escape the Soviet Union forty years ago.

What’s disgusting is that media “personalities” have jumped all over an active duty military person. Vindman went through proper channels. He raised a concern.
It’ the same thing with the WB. CIA analysts read reports, compile information. Raise concerns when something doesn’t seem right.
So when will someone challenge all these Republicans and their media whores what happened to “See something, say something”?

The President of the bone spurs is literally putting the life of a heroic American soldier at risk. And Republicans are fine with that. This is where we are today.

Shame on Trump and his allies… Shame…

Never.

You seem to be laboring under the illusion that the MSM exists to “tell the truth”.
Wrong.
The MSM exists to increase advertising revenue for their Oligarch owners and to push stories that support the goals of the ownership: Lower Corporate Taxes, Monopolistic Power, Praise and worship of the .01%.

Many of the “talking heads” you see in the MSM are themselves members of the 1%, some are members of the .1%, and a few, like Bloomberg, are members of the .01%. They all have agendas and they pay their employees to push those agendas.

There is no more “News” anymore, just “Info-Tainment” to increase ad-revenue.
Thus, the pushing of the Idiot Carny-Barker Trump for President.
As Leslie Moonvies the former CEO of CBS said: “Is it bad for the country? Probably. But its great for CBS!”

Next question?

Does anyone recall any security threats against the anti-Obama/Clinton people during the many Benghazi investigation? Me, neither. Thugs R Us obviously rule now.

As I’ve said before, the GOP have gone full-on Bolshevik. The ends–staying in power at any cost–justify any means. I’m sure we’ll manage to dump Trump somehow, but his cult will remain. I have no idea how, or even if, we reclaim them to continue in a government of laws, not men.

I feel as though I woke up one morning in a country I don’t recognize. Where are we and how did we get to this place? Hey - this is the universe where Spock has a beard, isn’t it?

Believe it was ABC soon after the Disney acquisition who made the news division a part of the entertainment division.

Unless there is something we don’t know, technically Vindman is not a whistleblower. He is a fact witness who responded to a Congressional subpoena. That doesn’t mean the asshats at Fox and a lot of Republican dead enders don’t want to threaten or silence him. That is what corrupt people always want to do. He is probably worried about his family but Vindman’s resume indicates he is one tough veteran. Far tougher than anybody Trump has ever employed. He is doing just find.

Maybe Billy Joel should rewrite “We Didn’t Start The Fire” to “We Republicans Are Bolsheviks”.
Name all the Repubs who have had meeting with Russians.

FOX did that 20 years ago. News Corp is the parent company and had FOX News as part of the FOX Entertainment division.

When News Corp reorganized in 2012 FOX News was broken off to become part of News Corp. and FOX Entertainment was rolled into the newly created 21st Century FOX which was sold to Disney Corp. last year.

The America that was worth fighting and dying for is being destroyed.

Hmm, Vindman is Jewish, lives in VA, and by courageously telling the truth and trying to do the right thing has incurred the wrath of Trump and his supporters. Heather Heyer was murdered in VA by an avowed white supremacist, anti-Semite and Trump supporter whose fellow white supremacist anti-Semites were praised by Trump as “very fine people” despite loudly and repeatedly chanting “Jews will not replace us!”. They like and have lots of guns. Trump has openly called for violence to be done to his enemies. Do the math. Obviously he needs protection.

Sorry, but while I know that it’s fashionable for some to say otherwise, if only for political effect, but there really are two Americas. One, the majority (but not by nearly reassuring numbers), is basically decent, tolerant and non-violent. The other, the lesser half both numerically and in all other ways, is hateful, intolerant and either violent or ok with violence. It’s the decents vs. the deplorables. And the latter can’t be allowed to win. They just can’t. Praise to patriots like Vindman and these others. They deserve our respect, our admiration, our gratitude, and our protection, as needed.

Seriously harmed, yes, but not destroyed. They can’t destroy an idea.

My concern is what if the Vindmans were moved to an Army base for their protection–could Trump as C-I-C countermand that decision and kick them off the base, leaving them vulnerable to reich-wing intimidation?

This will only get worse now that it came out in testimony that Vindman was asked if he’d like to come over to Ukraine and be their defense secretary. Vindman was obviously tickled that they thought a Lt. Col. in the American army would be an appropriate choice. He never took the offer seriously, you could watch the giggles appear at the sides of his smile, but that is not how the R counsel ran with it. Did he report to his superiors (yes), was he subsequently questioned by powers-that-be (no, they didn’t take it seriously either), why did the Ukranian guy keep asking? The whole implication was that Vindman was one foot out the door to Ukraine, his loyalties questionable. Nunes is so full of conspiricies this morning that I’m sure he’ll be blasting that one out too. Will Vindman and his family be endangered? “Who cares?” says Nunes.
