Arkansas’ GOP Governor Joins Growing List Of States Mandating Masks In Public

So some of you know my husband works in Thailand. He really can’t come here, and I can’t get there. This is the first time almost 30 years that I have actually felt he is infinitely safer there than I am here. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/16/world/asia/coronavirus-thailand-photos.html

It ALMOST makes me want to walk into a grocery store with a mask, but no shirt. Because…less fabric for the virus to cling to.

I will of course attach photos if I do…

Someone got a call from Walmart executives today telling them to pull their head out of their ass.

We need a map of states with mask orders in place, I’ve lost track of which Republican governors have submitted to tyranny and are now forcing the use of masks. Maybe we should start encouraging them all to move to states with governors that won’t fall for “the lib’s hoax”…in the end maybe we can get all of the Republicans to move to Wyoming. And, bonus, if they do it after the Census has finished counting then Wyoming will still only have three electoral votes despite the increase in population.

RED good? death Bad? me no understand.

they needed to reopen but had no plan and NO messaging: this is what we need to do if we want to stay open. and if we don’t do it right, we are going to have to close back up, after killing a bunch of people and delaying any chance of success.and if they wanted greater compliance: do you or don’t you want to have a football season?

Nah… lol

Seriously, the infectiousness of this virus is worrying for everyone, but the good thing is it’s relatively weak. Soap kills it. Wear a mask in public. Avoid stale air and crowds. Don’t touch your face.

And you probably won’t get it : - )

Yep. Doing all of that. And looking to the long-term. And staying away from Trump rallies, hahahahaha!

At the pool today I saw so many little kids wearing masks. Most were decorated with their favorite characters. They are getting used to them. They put these Trumper Governors to shame.

The state is powerful enough to mandate seat belts. Does Big Bob see a commie hellscape around him because of that?

Yes.

Masking is important, but hand-washing and distancing cannot be ignored. Switzerland mandated a limit on group gathering size to five people and performed much better than countries tolerating larger groups. There remains this irrational urge to gather that needs to be addressed. At the beginning of May, this same Arkansas governor, Mr. Hutchison, said large group gathering were ok. Then, ka-boom. If the US is condemned to this repeated open-close cycle, the least governors could do is restrict group size. Indeed, small class size is essential to successful reopening of the schools. Denmark did it at 10 kids per class. The UK had to scrap its planned reopening because it lacked the resources to spread kids out sufficiently.

You are going before the Vatican to propose and be an advocate for his canonization, I presume? This is too disgustingly low a standard by which a public servant whose actions had/continue to have life and death consequences should be assessed.

I automatically replace “a mask” with “pants” in all statements of this type

You seem to have inferred something from my comment which I in no way proposed. “Credit” does not equal “canonization.”
