Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers (R) on Sunday clarified that he does not plan to vote for former President Trump again if he were to launch a re-election bid in 2024, a month after saying that he would vote for Trump if the former president challenges President Biden in 2024.
Well, good for Rep Bowers. It’s too bad that his (probably momentary) exit from the trump train was only after the MAGAnauts declared war on him and his family.
… And SECOND! (edited) FIRST!
And here’s a photo of the roadrunner who came into the house yesterday and did not want to leave. They’re fearless and aggressive birds.

Bowers is running in the GOP primary for the Arizona state Senate this week amid backlash from Republicans, following his public testimony before the Jan. 6 Select Committee last month. Bowers is set to face off against Trump-endorsed candidate David Fansworth in the GOP primary. Bowers was also censured by the state GOP earlier this month.
… … … … … …
Well well..reality seems to have occurred to Mr Bowers
And because it’s Sunday…
What the hell does that even mean? Sounds like he’s doing Trump a favor by not voting for him.
Oh, I’m all out of fuck’s to give for people claiming to see the light after two elections of condoning all of TFG’s crap. Especially when it means diving headfirst into Desantis’s barrel of neofascist bullshit.
Bowers is a good start.
Now, if another 40 - 50 million of his fellow party members can come to see things the same way, the remainder can crawl back into the shadows and we can leave their insurrectionary tendencies to more mundane law enforcement.
So he is able to read the writing on the wall and now, when he’s sure it’s safe and everybody thinks it’s okay, decides not to support the former shit-gibbon-in-chief. Sounds like he could use some of that courage that he’s complaining there is a lack of. I mean what else has happened recently to change his mind?
It’s depressing that so many in the Arizona state government still think trump is OK to be POTUS. I guess they deny his mental issues and that he is entirely unqualified for the job based on his past performance.
FOX and RightWing media play an important part in Republican thinking, especially low information individuals as well as those who vote on emotional issues.
Maybe, for some people, “qualifications”=“I hate who YOU hate”
Some people here seem to think this is nothing, but I think in a hard-right Republican state like Arizona, having someone like this, an old hand in state government, finally declare that Trump is a totally unsuitable candidate is the necessary rebuke that may undercut the lies of the worst Republican ideologues. Somebody has to deflate the fantasy scenarios that they have built and intend to impose on this country.
Bowers is testament to the fact that it takes monumental undertakings to even partially dislodge a Republican from being politically completely fucked in the head.
Still not convinced. He said he would then said he wouldn’t. My guess is one of these statements was coming from his mouth, the other he’s talking out his ass. We’ll never know how he really voted.
Also, just example # 1,856,746 of what TFG touches he destroys.
Agree. I found him to be a good witness – as well as quite touching – when he testified, and I’m glad he came around. Mystifyingly late, but better late than never.
