The Arizona Republican Party’s executive committee voted Tuesday night to censure Arizona state House Speaker Rusty Bowers (R), who recently testified at one of the House Jan. 6 Committee’s public hearings.
The worst thing you can do in a cult is tell people the truth, doing so immediately makes you persona no grata. Bowers is still a Republican, but because he actually told the truth about the events of Jan 6th they just can’t stand him anymore.
And, for those who are complaining about the Democrats and wondering if they should bother voting, this is a demonstration of the alternative. If Republicans take over, everyone who does not follow the party line will be subject to far worse as they cement their minority run Christian theocracy. Stop whining that the Democrats aren’t perfect and vote them into office to stop the Republicans, maybe then the Republicans will finally oust their bad elements and support people like Bowers…even if we disagree with his policies he’s at least not willing to destroy our Democracy, even at a personal cost.
Good guy with gun needs glasses? Good guy with gun is too angry to make critical judgements? Good guy with a gun isn’t even charged with manslaughter? Reckless endangerment? This is America. Via ABC13.com:
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) – Arlene Alvarez’s family on Tuesday found themselves nowhere close to true justice five months after the tragic chain of events that led to the 9-year-old girl’s killing.
Earlier in the day, a Harris County grand jury declined to bring charges against 41-year-old Tony Earls, the man whom police say fired the shots that left the little girl dead on Feb. 15.
An investigation determined Earls and his wife were targeted by a robber near a Chase Bank ATM in the Gulfgate area. Earls then got out and shot at the fleeing suspect and a pickup truck that he thought the person was getting into, police said.
But the pickup was not the suspect’s getaway car. Instead, Arlene and her family were inside.
Bowers has “demonstrated he is unfit to serve the platform of” the GOP, therefore the censure aimed to “encourage all registered Republicans to expel him permanently from office in the impending primary election.”
First they came for those displaying honesty and integrity,
I still think that, at the end of the day, Bowers is content and knows he did the right thing. He’ll just consider the people who decided this, for whom he now has little or no respect.
