Per the NYT:

The subpoena issued to the State Senate appeared to be a way to get around the fact that many of the records from the 2020 election in Maricopa County, including ballots, have already been destroyed under normal election practices, according to two state officials familiar with the matter.

So the original ballots have been destroyed per the state election rules. That means the state senate held copies of all ballots? Why ? And if the GOP in Arizona couldn’t find fraud, what makes the grand jury think the FBI will? What lies did they tell the grand jury?

I guess this will devolve into someone like Rep Ogles proclaiming that AZ Republicans couldn’t run a fair election in AZ. Why hasn’t Ogles dragged former Republican AZ Gov. Doug Ducey over the coals, or since this is AZ prickly pear cactus?

Andy Ogles, by the grace of God and Elbridge Gerry a US Congressman, isn’t the only “insane” person in government. The so-called President, not content with ransacking Georgia’s election bureau and taking all the ballots and supporting documentation, is trying to do the same to Arizona.

When will the “news” start calling it an obsession not tethered by facts? When will they start calling him off his rocker? When will the op-eds start calling for his removal from office? They did it with Biden for much less.

IOKIYAAR is no longer acceptable. In fact, it never was.

What the Trump administration appears to be pursuing now is not a legitimate law enforcement inquiry. It is the weaponization of federal law enforcement in service of crackpots and lies.

Excuse us while we sit aghast that some people can only except a counter-reality.

We used to call that insanity. Now we call it the authoritarian’s clarion call AKA Palm Beach speak.

Okay, so let’s assume for the moment that he’s right: he really did win the 2020 election. The Constitution clearly states that one cannot be “elected” more than twice — doesn’t say serve, it says elected. So if he was elected in 2016 and 2020, then his election in 2024 is illegal, void, and he must immediately surrender the office and void any actions he has taken. Never happen, of course, but we can dream, can’t we?
