Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR) said that he would’ve liked to see more face coverings at President Trump’s Fourth of July weekend event at Mount Rushmore, but that it was held in a “controlled environment,” during an interview on MSNBC Sunday.
Still waiting to hear Governor Hutchinson’s acknowledgement that he was wrong. He closed his state too late, and reopened it too early, thus causing needless suffering and death.
“They should have followed guidelines there. You know, I know that it’s a controlled environment, so it’s really more about setting example,” Hutchinson said. “But, I know how important this was to (South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem). She’s been asking the President about this months ago. This was not something that was set up at the last minute, it was planned, and it was a controlled environment.”
My guess is that Jacksonville mandates masks and social distancing so the Republican convention goes to South Dakota and the governor will make it happen no matter what.
