But she’s safe here in the USA. She can watch on a Costco Bigscreen the decimation of her people in Gaza and pic in pic the cheering MAGA’s she encouraged folks to vote for.
How about that fucking Dupe from Central America that voted Trump and justified it by saying “he would never separate the families of good Latin Immgarnts”. Homan says fuck that. Send em all home…citizen or not. And that’s going to happen.

Anyone who voted against Harris because of the Gaza policy in order to send a message to Democrats is a fool, because it was always obvious that Trump would let Netanyahu do whatever he wanted. A leveled Gaza rebuilt into a Mediterranean playground for the rich, the West Bank overrun by settlers and absorbed, Palestinians dumped in camps in the desert (at least the ones that survive)…and that might be the best outcome the Palestinians get under Trump. Harris would have pursued a two state solution and pressured Israel to stop the killing.
It’s a propaganda war at this point, Democrats have to figure out how to win with the truth without being overwhelmed by the lies. It’s not easy, especially when Trump is over there ranting about invading Greenland and renaming the seas. But, Republicans are going to make it easier as they trash the economy and government, and people see things going to hell…self interest has a strong influence on how well people recognize the reality of a situation no matter what they want to believe.

I’m inclined not to tell a 200 year old party, staffed with hard core political professionals “what they need to do”. So far all of the criticism I’ve seen of both the Clinton and Harris loses to Trump have been trite and tainted with GOP bullshit. Both of those candidates were vastly more qualified than Trump and we’d be living in a different America had they won. Roe would be on the books, SCOTUS far less corrupt, Musk just a tech guy with no angle and Trump serving his justly due time. The democrats will still run statesmen against MAGA’s Rambos. And they should. I don’t see this mess ending until Rambo has caused so much pain ( horror in Gaza, capitulation in Ukraine, economic devastation that just can’t be spun or blamed away, America isolated leaving Russia and China to pick up the pieces and depression ) that was on the table, predictable and certain. Sooner or later everyone is going to be a victim. I don’t think at that point they’ll vote for more.

Greenland is about building a wall and Mexico’s going to pay for it. Nonsense for MAGA consumption. Only an idiot would think there’s anything sane in such talk. Renaming the Gulf of Mexico? Canada becoming the 51st state ( a very liberal addition ), Panama giving up the canal and military ops against the cartels? All going in the same can as bringing back manufacturing, repealing the ACA, wiping out ISIS in 30 days and paying off the national debt.
Any thinking person can see there’s only one place this goes.

Trying to herd puppies into an elevator. And that is exactly what the Right wants. Keep everyone running in all directions all the time. Classic.
There is nothing wrong with the high ground by the way. But you have to come down and deal with things directly otherwise there is no impact.
That is why I am impressed with AOC. She was constantly reacting to even tweets and many little things. She could fling it, but that is the thing, they kept her flinging. She could be baited. As she has had time in office, she has shown serious tempering. She has teeth, but she is now choosing and then sinking them into muscle and sinew in lieu of just getting air. It is a perfect illustration of how experience is needed, built and employed.

The gulags arose from a centuries-long tradition of sending people to Siberia. In part, of course, sending people to Siberia was a quick way to deal with high-profile dissidents such as Dostoevsky and boost a settlement and development project to deal with indigenous populations (see colonization of Australia). Colonizing Greenland, a rich land with growing land area due to crustal uplift from glacial melt, is going to be large, and likely counterproductive project. Mining will likely be the main industry in the short run. Greenland, an independent territory of Denmark, left the EC, the predecessor of the EU, in 1985. Even if it receives EU support today, this move is probably the wedge Trump seeks to exploit. There are a number of treaties governing Arctic areas that are under threat from polar amplification and loss of the ice cap and permanent sea ice. It’s perverse, certainly, but its use as a place for reeducation of dissidents would need some basis.
