No, I think you’re on solid ground. If the only way to get out of a bad place you’re stuck in is to unlearn everything you thought was true in the first thirty years of your life or so and learn things again correctly this time, your odds of making that progress are not good.

I think people have posted some dating site posts from “Real American Men” on TPM.
All about being “the king of the castle” and shit. I don’t know how many women find that appealing anymore.

There are at least some women out there, from what I can see, who would think that was right and correct. It’s in the Bible! I’m a God-fearing woman! All that sort of thing. But the naked gun-toting has a much smaller market, and the former isn’t that big. You can be a fundamentalist Christian and still be aware that you have as much right to dignity and equality as a man does. Maybe that’s streng verboten though, I don’t know. Sheer guessing.

Seems reasonable to me to get some clarity on where the line is for questioning. Someone earlier envisioned Graham responding to every question with “privileged!”. Drawing a line would block him from getting away with that

I am not versed in their thought as well. The vocal ladies all seem to be into traditional roles which include subservience to the “head of the household.” I would include Amy Covid in this crowd.

I doubt one even has to be religious or female to prefer being dominated. There’s a certain amount of peace in knowing one’s place, being told what to do, and in not having to be responsible for making choices that might turn out badly. You see something like that at the MAGA rallies

See, there’s a perfect example where you have to wonder. She’s a damn Supreme Court justice and operates in a world of sophisticated, educated people. She’s not a housekeeper in rural Mississippi. It’s hard to imagine you can come home from a day of Supreme Court justicing and be entirely subservient to the hubby because man. Anything’s possible but that seems like a stretcher to me.

Now, I try not to crow about it when I’m shown to have been right, for fear others will crow about it when I’m shown to have been otherwise, but I was sure this would happen back when a lot of people thought Trump support was an immovable object, an absolutely and infinitely forever thing. I thought they’d drop him like a bad habit, which is what he was, the instant he was a net loss. That kind of thing is how they make a living. Just watch them extricate themselves like a bunch of mealy-mouthed Houdinis. You’ll marvel at the shameless deftness of it.
