Your Honors, our client has The Best Words, and the greatest memory. He knows more than all the Generals combined. He knows more about taxes than anybody. Oh, and everything is a disgrace, a disaster.
One of the major things the Trump phenomenon has revealed is the degree to which rich people can game the system. If you can afford to hire a small army of lawyers, you can delay many legal procedures for years.
I think he has upward of 200 million + raked in from rube donations to use on lawyers. Maybe twice that…since of course nobody can tell what he has swindled and stashed away and kept in reserve. You thought he could abuse the legal system back when he was paying with his own money…
Seems like the jurisdiction issue is a red herring, as any court that could potentially find against T**** would have questionable jurisdiction. Thing is, even T**** judge appointees are finding against him.
So what do the legal eagles on TPM have to say about this, anyway? Is there standing/jurisdiction or is this one of many stalling tactics?
And how does this hypothesis jibe with Drumpf’s current status of (a) not being Preznit no more, and (b) being represented in today’s proceeding by a nobody with a work address above a Lebanese restaurant in Virginia?
Well, for one thing, that representation is what happens when you continually stiff the people that previously were the representation.
Or.
Maybe the case is so bad and so flimsy that no one of note wants to be associated with it.
Volume Volume Volume! We’ve cut out the middle-man and passed the savings on to … well, we cut out the middle-man anyways and he is going to go through some things, I can tell you.
A panel on CNN this morning after 9 am confidently predicted that whatever the Appeals Court decides that decision will not be “the last word” on the case. SCOTUS will have the last word. Except that may not be 100% true. The Appeals Court may rule that it lacks jurisdiction under the archives law and the SCOTUS may agree that jurisdiction resides solely with the District Court. In that event the last word on the issue will have been already written by the District Court. My guess is however the Appeals Court rules SCOTUS will still want its bite at the apple. Any opportunity to hamstring Biden will not be passed up by four of the Republicans on the court to grant cert.
I guarantee you Trump paid every penny he owed to Jones Day and Kasowitz. And of course he never paid the fools like Rudy and Sidney who were working on unwritten contingency expectations. My point is simply that Drumpf is reduced to being repped by shitty strip mall lawyers. Bill Barr’s DOJ is not there for him any more.
And wait till June to render a verdict…
Clock’s still ticking, even if it’s a nobody. Every day he’s one day closer to dying, all he has to do is keep things in the court somehow, and he considers that a win.
Donald J Trump…I Monster.
Opening argument. Did we need go any further? We’re dealing with greatness here!
(but everything is gonna be fine … come Springtime, right dicktater?)
He may go out like Cody Jarrett.
Judge Brown Jackson asked why a former POTUS has any say in determining what a current POTUS decides to release from the archives. She is good.
Also, Your Honors, it seems that everyone else in America, and indeed across the globe are all liars and angry Democrats. Conflicted, angry Democrats. Including most Republicans. It appears the only person capable of telling the truth is our client.
“Multiple sources, speaking to the Guardian on the condition of anonymity, described Trump’s involvement in the effort to subvert the results of the 2020 election,” wrote Lowell.
Trump’s call would reveal a direct line from the White House to the organizers of the Jan. 6 attack at the Willard. Among those in the hotel war room were a team led by Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Boris Epshteyn and former strategist Steve Bannon, who has refused to testify to the Jan. 6 House investigatory committee about his involvement.
New: Trump spokesperson Liz Harrington disputes my story that Trump called Willard aides seeking to stop Biden’s certification. “This is totally false,” Harrington said, without giving specifics.
It’s a feature not a bug.
