What offended me more than anything tonight was Trump and his fellow grifters using the White House and other federally-owned properties as backdrops for their slanders and lies. They act like it’s their personal property, without regard for history, tradition, or law. I guess we’re lucky they haven’t rebranded it as the Trump House, and that Melania only ruined the rose garden and didn’t install a new driveway over it.
I’m sure you know this, but I think people have made their decisions. Now it’s just all about turnout: get the base to vote, and maybe in the process get them being obnoxious and threatening enough to discourage the opposition.
And we’d almost certainly be facing another four years of Trump. Something the Sanders’ supporters never seemed to understand was that an aging, rather obnoxious politician who calls himself a socialist, and who sounds like Brooklyn, was never going to win a national election. Sorry, bro’s, but that’s a simple fact. If you don’t believe it, you’ve never been away from the large coastal States, nor have you ever been to the South.
There’s also a more obvious problem with it. In 2016, they managed to convince just enough people that the country was in some sort of “terrible mess” (I had some weird conversations about that with people whose sources of information truly mystified me), and only the Republicans could save us. That got Trump elected.
They’re essentially going with the same narrative this time around. But they’ve been in power since 2017, so if we’re in a “terrible mess,” they own it.
Calm down. I’m not promoting Sanders. I’m saying that’s what would have happened. You seem to be forgetting all the press easing us into accepting the Sanders’ candidacy, the numbers showing that the division of support among so many candidates was tending to favor Sanders.
Then along came the Southern primaries. But before them, Biden’s campaign was on life support.
“If Joe Biden is elected on November 3rd, I’m POSITIVE you’ll all be murdered in your beds by MS-13 before Christmas, which will be cancelled anyway because SOCIALISM.”
