I can understand those who are leery of the MRNA vaccines because they have not been around that long, though by now if there were a major issue the millions who got Covid shots (non-J&J) would have shown the issues. But those who are just anti any vaccinations are just LOONS.

She owes us a lot of money and air time to undo what just those 3 things have wrought.
Most of her shows and snake oil salesmen are soon forgotten, but some endure, and we suffer for it. I wonder if anyone has called her out on it, like Bill and Hillary, for example. And what does she do now with all her money?

The study regarding autism disinformation:
“average users’ rates of vaccine-relevant messages, which we collected online from July 2014 through September 2017.”
As I recall, there was an election smack ass in the middle of all this disinformation. Subsequently that the election led to the end of America’s greatness in a lot of different areas. Weird coincidence, don’t you think?

It’s been around for a long time, in development, finally in use. But there wasn’t money in it (only being used for an ebola vaccine) COVID changed all of that. It was developed at the University of Wisconsin. You know, with those grants that have all been cut off.
The US Army had been working on developing a “universal” vaccine - an mRNA base that could be quickly adapted to whatever appeared.
And now they’re finding that cancer patients who received the mRNA version of the vaccine are finding their cancer treatment boosted.

Patients who got shots of mRNA before starting a type of cancer immunotherapy lived much longer
It’s a pretty dramatic difference.
To find out, Grippin and colleagues analyzed the records of more than 1000 patients who were treated for advanced skin and lung cancer at MD Anderson between 2019 and ’23. People who received a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine within 100 days of starting immunotherapy with checkpoint inhibitors lived significantly longer than those who received the same drugs but didn’t get the vaccine. For patients with advanced lung cancer, the median survival rate nearly doubled, rising from 20.6 months to 37.3.

The failure of a whole lot of people to understand and adapt to the rise of social media is at the bottom of America’s problems. Social media democratizes stupidity. Every fool can spout every foolish idea without fear of being called out but with the certain knowledge they are going to be reaching a whole lot of people. It has led to the rise of MAGA and a lot of snake oil salesmen. My own social media feed is featuring ED snake oil, as well as dementia cure snake oil ads that are generating a lot of money for youtube and facebook. This is what happens when your educational system doesn’t focus on teaching science and critical thinking.

Good on them. In a recent NPR program on a book contrasting China and the US, it was noted that China’s government is made up largely of engineers; the US of lawyers. Here’s another area where it shows.
Free HPV would have been great! It cost me at least $400 for each child.

I grew up in Ohio and have some family with Kentucky roots. They know better than to discuss politics with me but if they did - it would anti-vax, home-schooling, how great their father was, a part-time preacher with his own little church. The father managed to get an Ohio, unionized factory job and proceeded to undermine the union, advocate against it and then was surprised that he was laid off before he was eligible for retirement benefits. They will tell me what wonderful doctors they have with various natural cures and then proceed to list their medical problems. God help them, you can be sure MAGA will not.

i’ve quit FB. somuch crap on it…as to the vaccines…me and mine hav had every vaccine available; i’ve reached the point that i really do not care if people and thier kids get sick; its all about choices, i despise OPRAH and the horse she rode in on…she made a ton of money on her stupid show, now she sits, fat, happy and well fed…teachers are forbidden to even mention critical thinking in schools , here. FLORIDA…science is limited, in public schools.the only really good schools are the catholic schools

i’m becoming convInced that CHINA will by pass the USA on every level…. engineers will and maybe do. run the world..it seems they do not tolerate fools. while the US blows smoke. CHINA seems to be busy doing ‘real’ stuff.it may not be an ideal country for whatever..but it has endured for thousands ot years.

I too am sick of government of the lawyers, by the lawyers and for the lawyers. We could do worse if we relied more on engineers.
