Alaska state Sen. Lora Reinbold (R) had no choice but to drive for more than 13 hours and then take a ferry on Sunday to get to the state’s legislature in Juneau after Alaska Airlines banned her for flouting its mask requirement.
The result will be that some, er, supporter, who definitely does not have business before the lege, will fly her back and forth in their private plane. “Hey, I was going to Juneau anyways, so why not give her a lift? All 17 times.”
It is a federal mandate for crying out loud. All airlines are supposed to be enforcing it.
I think the mandate expires May 11. I hope it is extended. I am afraid all of the scofflaws who refused to comply and got suspended by the airlines will be reinstated if the mandate expires.
The woman is a prime example of stupid, insisting on behavior that harms both others and herself, with no benefit to society generally as well as her constituents more specifically; i.e., 3rd law of stupidity.
Everyone’s first thought. I also wondered what the husband thought, hour after hour, rolling down the highway on a trip that would have been entirely unnecessary if she had put the stupid mask on.
It’s like all Trump had to do was say the word and a largish swathe of the population suddenly became militantly stupid on a matter of life and death.
“claimed in a Facebook post on Saturday that she was “reasonable” with “all Alaska Airlines employees” and decried the airline for talking to the media about the suspension.”
I’m sure she was not going to mention anything at all about her excursion to the media. Of course she thinks she is reasonable too.
I thought Canada wasn’t letting Americans in right now.
