FFS, Stone’s business, his actual fucking livelihood, is political black ops, doing shady to outright illegal shit for Republican politicians. He acts through cut-outs when he can and becomes the cutout when necessary.
Digging up dirt on Democrats and exposing it to his pals in the press in return for them giving him kid glove treatment even when he’s not a source for them is his main business, but he’s shown he’ll gladly commit a felony in a heartbeat if the price is right.
Which is what is so goddamn insulting about seeing the “bodyguard” story treated as a thing that is indisputably true, and in particular seeing his history and his business washed clean out of this story as if they have no bearing on the credibility of the claim.
For God’s sake, the bodyguard story is so obviously pretextual, so transparently a cover for him acting as, at a minimum, a conduit for communication between the Trump crime family and the plot within a plot inside the insurrection, the failure to the press to treat it as even slightly a bit suspect reeks either of tacit collusion because he feeds them dirt or fear.
