I am having to replace my elderly dual-fuel Thermador range.
Anybody have any experience with the newer brands of moderately priced dual-fuel ranges?
This is driving me nuts.

What do you think Biden should be saying about 9-18?
Just my initial reaction would be to say there will be a much heavier presence monitoring and policing such gatherings and that those forces will be well-prepared and with instructions to use whatever force is necessary to protect life, property, and govt. assets/facilities.

How did we survive? especially with the now documented level of intensity and malicious intent built up prior to the big event … and the intended result that was desired … and the clear suppression of local Law Enforcement - and impeding of National Guard forces and other factors that could have been put into place to thwart the insurrection…
- How did this not go completely off the rails?
- How did it turn out that there was not large volumes of gunfire from the massive mob that poured into the Capitol building? There were roughly 800 people who illegally entered the Capitol on January 6th - just a wild-ass guess - but I’d wager that at the very least 600 of them own guns … how many had them concealed on them while roaming the Capitol is unknown …
- How did it turn out that this deranged mob that broke things, stole things … defecated on the floors and smeared feces on the wall … did not start setting things on fire? clearly there was not much respect for the sanctity of the building - not when you wipe your excrement on the walls …
Had things played out with 2-5-10 minutes swing in timing at different points - the invading mob could well have taken literally hundreds of Representatives / Senators / the VP hostage - or - make good on the rantings to kill them …
With all of the reports of the pre-event intentions and emotions and desires for violence AND with this being seen by virtually everyone in those circles as the last chance - the ultimate Hail Mary attempt to pull out a disruption that could deliver victory … how did it simply become just a stupid monumental mess ?
I’m not complaining … I’m glad we survived … I’m glad we are not now living under some sort of "Interim Police State - pending resolution of the “inconclusive” electoral process - or in the 2nd term of Trump - as decided by a vote by state delegations in Congress … but it is all so truly bizarre that we do have to ask why & how … what exactly happened - - did Trump’s people get too cute with trying to preserve some shred of plausible deniability that they FUBARED their own insurrection with bad communications and glitched-up timing? Were there people that were intending to do “X” and then inexplicably went rogue and did “Y”? It has been 8 full months … WHY aren’t we seeing more signs of this whole gory story getting laid out in detail? Yes, the committee has requested prone records / logs - but why doesn’t the FBI already have all of this?

Hopefully the protests will be met with a BLM-level response, not “qwhite tourists to the Capital” response. Though since LEO will know most of the protestors, I’m not holding my breath that it will be appropriately policed, except for the counter-demonstrations.

Hmmm…we’ve got their oven/range and vent hood. We didn’t see any markup in price beyond Viking or any of the other brands. Incredibly simple to maintain, too! Each burner has a different BTU, ranging from 8k to 22k. If you can find one in your price range, I really recommend one. This makes me wonder why they got marked up so high, though.

BLM was too heavy handed, an inappropriate response governed, to my mind, by TFG’s fearful imaginings. At this time, I can’t see the justification for that level of response and don’t expect it from the Biden administration.

Won’t work in my kitchen. What I’m looking for is a dual-fuel kitchen range.
I have lived in DC for over twenty years. Precisely twice as an ordinary citizen have I been warned, along with the entire populace, to avoid the federal downtown area for fear of violence.
The first was in December 2020 when the electoral college met. The second, for which the warnings were more strident and widespread, was in the days leading up to Jan 6.
How is it even a thing to consider the threats weren’t apparent and known? The warnings to DC residents didn’t materialize out of thin air.
