Join my family–OK, so far so good, very traditional—in their new and unique journeys—WHOA WHOA WHAT’S GOING ON because he just veered so woo-woo there! “Journeys” of course is classic. “New and unique,” I mean what, does he have an imaginary family that’s a set of plucky kids who go around having adventures in a book series that’s some lesser publishing house’s answer to the better-known book series still trying to cash in on Pottermania? I have so many questions Tom Graves! BTW Tom Graves you look kind of creepy and should consider working for a funeral home.
Graves’ decision may be the starting point for other retirements that typically arise during the holiday season.

Yes, after only four terms. Trump has damn near killed him.

He will have served nearly five terms.
I don’t know how it’s possible but I do expect his successor to be worse in every way.

It’s a bright red rural district, he won in 2018 with 77% of the vote and could easily win again. He’s likely looking for something political to do back home in 2022.

Graves is my Congressman. he has amassed over a million dollars in his campaign coffers running in one of the ten most red districts in the country. in the last election his Dem opponent spent most of the campaign time in jail for driving drunk and roughing up a cop. Graves is smart enough to step out while the stepping is good. he did the same with a bank he managed, leaving right before bankrupsty was declared. bye bye, Graves. Have fun in your fancy new home.

I’m sure being in the House was much more fun for Graves when the GOP was the majority and he got to be in Reverse Robin Hood Paul Ryan’s band of merry thieves, robbing from the poor and giving to the rich.

Somewhat O/T, three members of the Transylvania Co., NC County Commission changed their political affiliations from Republican to Unaffiliated. They danced around explaining their decisions but it is clear they are fed up with the GOP. This is a county that went +22 for Trump and is in Mark Meadows’ district. It is something that only makes the local news and I have to wonder if it is happening elsewhere to any extent.

He has only had a Democratic opponent once. Had a sleazy loan deal as a state legislator. Came into congress as a tea partier. I strongly suspect he is leaving due to some undisclosed scandal.
