CNN —

A judge in Fulton County, Georgia, on Monday rejected efforts by Donald Trump’s legal team to toss evidence in the criminal investigation into the former president’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia and to disqualify the district attorney investigating him.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney also rejected efforts by Cathy Latham, who served as one of the GOP fake electors in Georgia, to join Trump’s push.

“Having reviewed the pleadings, the Court now finds that neither Trump nor Latham enjoys standing to mount a challenge – at this pre-indictment phase of the proceedings – to the continued investigation into and potential prosecution of possible criminal interference in the 2020 general election in Georgia,” the judge wrote in a nine-page order.

McBurney added that, “while being the subject (or even target) of a highly publicized criminal investigation is likely an unwelcome and unpleasant experience, no court ever has held that that status alone provides a basis for the courts to interfere with or halt the investigation.”

ha ha!

And trump’s too cheap to help find a lawyer for his worker.

That’s a $100,000 signature bond. He didn’t have to put up any money, just promised to pay it if he fails to appear as required.

The final sentence of this piece made the former jorno student in me laugh out loud.

Trump has been open about wanting a shot at recapturing the presidency in next year’s election before going to trial.

Well played, Kovensky. Well played.

Delay, confuse, grift, more delay, demand innocence,
Oh and delay some more.
Lawyer, lawyer…who needs a lawyer?
Nauta delayed the same way

“It’s not clear how long it will take De Oliveira to find local counsel.”

It will take just as long as Trump wants it to.

One would think trump could offer a lawyer’s name to this newly indicted guy. But Noooo …delay delay delay, and delay again.
Doesn’t trump have about 5 trials upcoming? Civil and criminal?

What the actual fuck? Either you run the fucking judicial system, or you let the fucking defendants run it in your place. How’s about, “You’re being arraigned on August 10. If you don’t have counsel by then, you will be incarcerated for contempt of court and remain in custody, along with a $500 a day fine until you get counsel.” How about growing a fucking pair of balls instead of tickling theirs?

No one on here is going to want to hear this, but I’m going to make a prediction.

Fat Boy will be found guilty of multiple federal and state charges, but he will not spend so much as 30 seconds in prison. His lawyers and the fascist right will pull a Brooks Brothers riot and Fat Boy will be sentenced to house arrest at Mar-A-Lago for the rest of his life, costing the government hundreds of millions, while Fat Boy plays golf and cosplays as a political prisoner.

I’ll wager that all the lawyers in southern Florida are currently in storage in a bathroom at Mar A Lago.

October: NYAG civil fraud case that could dismantle the Trump Org.

January: E. Jean Carroll II: Electric Boogaloo.

Later January: Pyramid scheme civil suit (he’ll settle this)

March: NY documents fraud case (low-level felony at most)

May: Stolen documents case (but Cannon will delay)

Gift article. I’m not sure what’s more surprising, TMFWWNBN being ripped off for $40M in lawyer’s fees, or him actually paying the lawyers? Have the $40M in checks actually cleared? What scam is he running on this one? Presumably 50% kick backs off the top for himself?
I’m sure he views the SuperPAC money as “mine!” so why give it to lawyers?

Well that otta be grounds for a complaint of piling on…right?? I mean… he’s trump and that makes him speshul…Right? Bow before him and kiss the ground he stepped on. Adore his magnificence!!
Yesterday someone said an appropriate punishment would be picking up trash by the roadside…That’s too easy. It’s too bad in this case we don’t do cruel and unusual punishments. Like locked in a pillory where folk could throw rotten stuff at him.

My only quibble is that both columns are actually “key GOP campaign events.”

And to think Gary Hart’s campaign in 1988 for president derailed because of an affair. No felonies, no attempts at insurrection, no staging a coup, no criminal indictments with more than 70 felony counts…

Delay. Delay unto death, I suppose.
I can wait.
Delay only adds to Trump’s pain.
He knows his pain is crippling him
but he must add to it
to escape it.
Everyday he delays he suffers.
Everyday it’s worse.
I can wait.

Remember the RNC was paying most of his legal freight for a long time. What it must be like to have unlimited money and completely gum up the entire American legal system.

Can the court not appoint a public defender for the time being??
