@irasdad, you are usually full of humor and good will. I love the change. Tell it brother, tell it.

If we are going to be adopting religious tests from 2000 years ago concerning the beginning of human life, why don’t we adopt the traditional Jewish test. Human life begins with the first breath. Genesis 2.7.

Human life beginning at conception is just not supported in the bible. That is a Pythagorean idea supported by Hippocrates. Americans, including Alabama state judges, don’t worship Zeus or Hera.

And that should be done, just as soon as they fall into the trap.

Honestly, if Democrats aren’t already getting their messaging on IVF set, I don’t know what the hell is wrong with them.

This IVF mess is the logical end point of “Life begins at conception.” If a fertilized egg is a “human life” then there is no difference between disposing of unneeded frozen embryos and an abortion. I don’t care how much lipstick they put on this pig, it is either life or it isn’t. I would even argue that creating many embryos in the lab with the known result that most will be thrown away is far more destructive of “human life” than an abortion for a single nonviable/unwanted pregnancy. The discarded frozen embryos are, obviously, not wanted. Theoretically, every frozen embryo is potentially viable versus one in a bleeding woman that is known not to be viable. BTW, according to NIH, the rate of “wastage”(murder??) of unused frozen embryos is close to 76%.

The only time an embryo is considered precious is when it is in a woman. Frozen in a lab, it is nothing more than garbage. I am happy that it has come to this very basic argument about what constitutes life. Sorry for those couples who depend on IVF but it had to come to this to finally expose the hypocrisy and misogyny of the anti-abortion crusaders.

It was Nixon who signed the endangered species act and was supported by most Republicans. It saved the bald eagle from extinction. The same bald eagle that they love to prop us as a symbol at Trump rallies as well as other pseudo patriotic events. This landmark legislation that has been heralded as one of the most effective laws in history that has saved hundreds of species.

We’ve all seen the clip of Donnie with the noble bald eagle. That bird didn’t just flip him out, it also flipped him off.
Did you know that there have only been 3 POTUSs that didn’t have a pet in the WH? Do you want to know who?

Nixon was also instrumental in the formation of the EPA in July, 1970 and signed the Clean Air Act in December, 1970. We know what the current crop of Republicans, including the ones on the Supreme Court, think of those legislative achievements.

I like the intensity. But, pace yourself. We need you for the entire marathon.

As we wait for the Michigan results, I’ll just drop this off here.

Lessons learned: ZERO.

I think someone posted this here but maybe it was on another lefty woke site i look at now and then:

“The dildo of consequences is never lubricated.”

Yeah read that on the MM. Even after all these hours later it makes me giggle.

I heard Duckworth’s interview on NPR this evening.
She’s kicking ass! Biden’s team needs to use her a lot more. She does not pretend about hypocrite Republicans.

I have been calling God the greatest abortionist of all time for years. And often losing friends because of it. I need to look up this David Cross person. Also, I think the percentage of “God Abortions” is more like 40%. Oftentimes they are called menstrual periods. I guess those will be illegal soon.

I believe we should call Mace’s non-binding resolution the “chicken shit” bill. Time to get real you gutless cowards.

I am sure that I am not stating anything original, but Repubs saying that they are for IVF is absolutely meaningless. The meaningful thing is whether or not they think that embryos are human beings and whether or not a doctor or fertility clinic employee could be prosecuted for murder if an umimplanted embryo is destroyed. Republicans have clearly shown that they believe that embryos are human beings and that people should be charged with murder if umimplanted embryos are destroyed. That is majorly effed up.

So if I have this right, instead of a bill to actually do something, Mace wants to pass a resolution that says they should do something. Genius - that’s Trump VP material for sure.

Heard that as well – Sen. Duckworth was so eloquent and completely on point.

My snarky brother wondered whether you could get charged for child endangerment if you look at porn in the presence of frozen embryos.

The reality of IVF is the husband/partner is an important part of creating the zygotes. MEN who want families better check in on this issue, along with so many others.
